Funny you should say so, Lquiz (welcome back, by the way!) because it was my most hated creature, due to its sheer uselessness. I prefer spider freeze, damnit, because at least they train faster, and you can sacrifice 'em if you every need to.

THAT SAID, excellent work by all. I love it, particularly the swimming concept art.

Love the detailed scales and how true to the original it is (with the addition of gills - good shout by Brodie).

I have to agree with Lquiz (welcome back!) I too have a soft spot for the tentacle, like you say it's so elusive and... odd!

I like it with its new "rough" texture, it somehow looks more gruesome and creepy which is really cool.
The original Tentacle while sufficiently showing off DK1's great personality and interesting design, does sometimes make me think of a random cartoon doodle turned into a creature. Now this Tentacle does not, it looks great.

I'm quite ambivalent about the longer neck. A more defined "slant" of the "horn"/"beak" would give it more "personality", but that is only a perspective. The current angle / length does make it look very raw and even gives a feeling of a more beastly and aggressive thing than the DK1 Tentacle.
