    Default MeinCookie's Dark Elf Revival

    I know MGR said he would - but i want to have a try anyways. Anyone can attempt one, right ?

    Also this isn't complete - had to rush out half way through .

    Hardly the most physically imposing creatures on the outset, underestimating a Dark Elf, however, is foolish endeavor. They are instructed from the youngest age in the deadly field of archery. They taught to be ruthless, unforgiving, logical and unemotional - ridding themselves of traits which they believe impede their survival in the dangerous underworld.

    They do by nature have a wild streak - but it is crushed to be replaced by firm military discipline - making them among the most reliable creatures and help them to work together extremely effectively in large groups. A single slap will increase the efficiency of these creatures 3 times the norm without in-proportionately effecting happiness.

    They are calm and cool under even the most extreme of situations and have a high pain threshold - making them a b*tch to convert.

    They can research, but only if ordered - devoting their time to training, guard duties and R&R.


    Health: Medium-Low
    Attack: Medium-High
    Armour: Medium
    Defense: Low
    Speed: Low
    Intelligence: Enough for Research
    Training Rate: Medium
    Recovery Rate: Medium-High
    Wage: Moderate


    Prospective Spells

    Level 1 - Melee (Crossbow Bash)
    A basic melee attack, does surprisingly good damage for a ranged unit but is slow to refresh.

    Level 1 - Bolt
    An average ranged attack, delivered by the Dark Elf's hard-hitting crossbow.

    Level 4 - Slow
    A ranged ability which slows single foes, allowing the Dark Elf to lay into their enemies at range rather than be hindered by their low speed whilst attempting to put distance between themselves and their enemies.

    Level 6 - Cast Armour (Self)
    The average self armour spell.

    Level 7 - Guided Bolt
    The average guided bolt spell.


    Appearance
    They wear crude metal face-masks to present a present an air of indifference and ruthlessness (perhaps something a cross between a WWI Tank Driver's Mask and that of an 1800s masked ball).

    Well the whole reason why I was creating a new Archer was because the old one wasn't really that much original and just was too similar to the counterpart. I don't see much difference between this and the normal Dark Elf except for one little facter, you actually made these things even closer to the Archer when you gave it Speed. I don't think Speed works too well or will look right because she is using a Crossbow. Those things are kinda hard to fire quickly with compared to a normal bow. Then again, haven't really fired a cross bow but just a normal bow XP

    I don't know why you submitted this now though. I mean it isn't even complete, how can I pass any real type of judgement without it being complete?

    I don't write up suggestions in word - but rather when i got to make the post itself. If i get interrupted mid-post i either need to copy to a word or post and return to it later

    And yeah - I was wondering if speed really fitted - and i actually just copied it from the RP standard Dark Elf ability layout. My first thought was some sort of "crossbow bash" - a long cool-down heavy melee attack to a stun creature and open up a retreat route .

    EDIT ~

    Actually - I'll replace it with an Armour spell - they wield heavier crossbows slow-fire after all which makes it more appropriate .

    To branch out from the archer you could make the dark elf anti armor ranged units. Crossbows fire slower, but can carry a bigger punch making them more suited to take down knights and such. instead of giving them a poison bolt or a guided bolt give them an armor piercing bolt (lowers the armor of an enemy for a set period of time) and a deadbolt shot (ignores armor and deals high damage), or other powers that focus on bring armored units down.

    The Dark Elf should return in my eyes. She was excellently used by me. Make her better at long range and short (knives and weilding blades) while the hero counterpart is better at long distance and not great at short (he doesn't reall yod short distance at all)

    Problem with the Dark Elf was that, well, it didn't really fit in as well. We can make something better than that probably.

    Don't sound like a very good difference for a counterpart. It wouldn't separate them by much at all. That's just one difference in terms of stats/abilities.
