I think that there could be a circle (donut) inside the flower of an imp. Which shows how far they are?
As for rooms, you can see how fast you can capture it at the health bar of that room.

Does this come under UI?
Quite simply show progress fo
1) Claiming enemy tiles/buildings
2) Fortifying walls
Either a small bar overlapping imps body or over his head.
Or maybe a radial bar around his health.
It's nice to know how long it will take for your imp to finish.

As far as claiming tiles and reinforcing walls, that happens so fast I don't even think we need to have a little bar there. And yeah, DK1 alreay had 3 Bars for Rooms. Health, Efficiancy, and Occupation.

yeah we defo need that dk1 flag system! that was cool. it does happen fast and it's quite possible we'd make it faster if anything (unlike slow poke dk2). it's quite nice to know the second when the imp starts and finishes his dances. maybe you didn't see your imp start dancing on enemy tile and they drop a monster. you may decide to wait half a second or quickly pick it up. same case goes for the wall dance. that's even longer so it would work better for that.
Wait they dance? I always imagined that they hump walls in order to reinforce them. As for taking tiles I thought they just jumped on it to make it hard.
