Information
Author's Note
A weird and amusing idea I've had in mind for a while. These things are probably going to be one of the most amusing creatures in the game. In DK2, you could summon Skeletons. I was thinking maybe these creatures could be the new summonables.
About the Missile Man
The Missile Man is a mysterious creature that is born of pure mana. They can be summoned by magic users, or found lurking about somewhere. Some people say he's a product of an evil Warlock that lives deep underground. Others say that he perhaps was created by mistake by a powerful magic user who attempted to cast Missile. There is even an ancient myth that the Missile Man was once its own species and the original teacher of the "Missile Magic", but they had gone extinct long ago.
Nobody knows for sure where they came from, but these creatures have a completely amusing fighting style, and are said to be loved by Dark Mistresses for that reason alone...
Behavior in Dungeon:
The Missile Man does nothing in particular. He requires no Lair or Food, and will not even collect pay. Without a standard job of any kind, they will wander around your dungeon until they are told what to do. They are impossible to annoy, and can be slapped as many times as you wish because they take no damage from slapping. He also has a similar walk to that of Shaggy from Scooby Doo. When he runs, he throws his arms about wildly.
On occasion, however, if the Missile Man spots a magic user, (Warlock, Wizard, Fairy, etc) they may begin following them around. This has no real effect on the magic user they follow. Missile Men are also afraid of Archers (Since Archers can kill them quickly with their high accuracy) and will scream before running away if they ever see one. The only time they won't is if you told them to do a specific job, like Guarding or Manufacturing. When he runs from an Archer, he flails his arms about like an idiot.
Behavior outside of Dungeon:
Missile Men can be found anywhere outside the dungeon. Whether it be wandering through a large river, guarding Hero Wizards, or getting their feet burned in molten lava. Anywhere.
Behavior in Battle:
LOL Cannon Fodder
Missile Men have very simple behavior in battle. They run up to an enemy and rapidly slap them. Yes, you read that correctly. They constantly slap the enemy with insane speed, yet deal so low damage that they're not as much of a threat to most. They are quite fearless in battle, and threatless.
Most Pathetic Body Guard Evah
As mentioned before, Missile Men can be summoned by magic users. Then they are summoned, their battle patterns change a bit. They will focus entirely on attacking the target that the summoner is focused on. And when the summoner is attacked, they will run towards the attacker and try to slap some sense into them.
Strengths:
- Very fast
- Very cheap and easy to maintain
Weaknesses:
- Can't do much damage to stronger enemies
- Easy to kill
Jobs:
The Missile Man has no default Job but can do anything it is told to do.
Lair and Food:
The Missile Man does not sleep nor does he eat.
Loves:
Magic Users
Hates:
Archers
Appearance:
A DK1 Missile with long arms and legs
How Introduced:
Hostile/Neutral/Summonable, possibly early-mid game in a secret area.
Obtainable By:
The Missile Man cannot be converted because he leaves behind no body. He can only be found as a Neutral (and will probably be turned into a Skeleton if the Player has a Prison since they're so useless)
The Missile Man can also be obtained through the Temple.
Attraction:
They can be found anywhere as a Neutral.
Sacrifice Combination: Imp + Fly
Hero Sacrifice Combination: Tunneller + Thief
Entrance Effect
N/A
Torture:
The Missile Man can only be tortured if you get one and get bored with it so you decide to torture it.
The Missile Man will be constantly slapped by the Torturer.

Heh, I was looking forward to this suggestion.
So far, since it's pretty late for me at the moment, it looks good to me.
I'll look deeply at it again tomorrow.
Also, amusing thoughts.

I don´t like much about this suggestion.
The name and the skills kind of sound unsuitable for a Keeper. At the same time I don´t like it that they resemble a spell from DK1.
They might work as ranged monster but when they only use melee attacks like you said, what´s the point?
Also I'm against summons.
Well it's personal. Don't like it. Would like it a lot more if it did not resemble a spell from DK1 was called something other than Missleman. Perhaps Flinger or whatever.
And it should be a regular monster that comes out of the portal with a lair and all that crap.
His attacks should not be missles and his level 10 skill should be more unique than just a powered up version of another skill.
Just a random idea I had. I'm certain Missiles will look the same if not similar in WftO. And without a doubt will they be there too. It is a nice magical attack.
They attack in swarms? This was supposed to be more of a joke creature than anything to be honest. It wasn't supposed to be strong or fit any real unit type. Also, not having it attack with Melee means you wouldn't see it slap anybody! Oh noes! D:
It is a Neutral, not a normal creature. It isn't meant for the Player to use in a fight, but for the Player to fight him.
Just an idea I throught might be good. I think since these thngs are made of mana, they would make a nice summonable. They're much better being summoned compared to Skeletons me thinks.
I couldn't think of any other better name. I think Flinger sounds kinda... dumb to be honest. Then again, Missile Man doesn't sound much smarter XP But I'm especially against Flinger since it isn't designed to be support, more like this laughable random Melee creature you find somewhere.
Uhh, it is a Neutral? Since when do Neutrals come out of Portals and are attracted like normal Creatures? That's like critizising the Horned Reaper cause you summon him instead of getting him from the Portal.
He's made of Mana, like the Imp. He doesn't need sleep or food.
Missile Man should not use Missiles. Got it.
Seriously, that would destroy the whole idea. :/
He's master of Missiles? Meteor is lame, it is just a powered up version of Fireball.
Keep in mind it wasn't quite designed to be actually used. He's just there as a joke. He'd probably only be a threat at a high level with a few numbers, but isn't designed to be threatening at all. I even say he's "threatless".

threatless means useless imo
Anyway you don´t have to go on a full defence here. I already said it´s more personal than anything. I wont change my mind unless it´s something completely different.
It's funny as hell? Well, I think it is funny.
Awwww, no debates timereply to the other thread already :P
