    Default DK1 Training Costs

Some time spent mapmaking has made me believe that Training Cost is very important, since limiting the amount of Gold, or not limiting it, can make or break the challenge of a map.

So I took some tests, by training 6 unslapped imps to level 3, starting with 15000 Gold, in a 5x5 Training Room (At 150 Gold per tile). I was left with a balance of 8790.

Working it out, it comes to 410 gold for 4500 XP.

I also did another test where I took modified Hellhounds at very high Training Value (10) unit and trained up with level requirement about 10% of the normal. They leveled up from level 1 to 3 without costing a single cent. So I would reasonably conclude that the part where the monster is celebrating, they are still gaining XP.

So I'll just treat it as as 10 Gold per 100 XP at training value 2.
At training value 1, it would be 10 Gold per 50 XP.

    Standard Creature Progression is
    1000 3500 5000 6500 8500 10500 13000 16000 20000
    Total : 84000 XP
Divide by 50 we get 1680.

So about 1680 / Training Value x Training Cost for level 10.

Most Keepers should be assumed to "break out" around level 8, which is 48000 XP
Divide by 50 we get 960

So about 960 / Training Value x Training Cost for a level 8 Creature
DK1 Haste effectively doubles the training value of the creature.
Of course, this list ignores Paydays, but I've estimated it takes about 2 paydays to get a Creature to level 8, 3 or slightly less to get to level 10.

    Warlock 08 - 480 x 30 = 14,400
    Warlock 10 - 840 x 30 = 25,200

    Bile Demon 08 - 480 x 38 = 18,240
    Bile Demon 10 - 840 x 38 = 31,920

    Dragon 08 - 320 x 40 = 12,800
    Dragon 10 - 560 x 40 = 33,440

    Orc 05 - (16000/50) / 2 x 15 = 160 x 15 = 2,400
    Orc 08 - (32000/50) / 4 x 15 + 2,400 = 160 x 15 + 2,400 = 4,800
    Orc 10 - (36000/50) / 4 x 15 + 4,800 = 180 x 15 + 4,800 = 7,500

    (No Haste)
    Dark Mistress 08 - 320 x 24 = 11,520
    Dark Mistress 10 - 560 x 24 = 13,440

    Dark Mistress 06 - (24500/50) / 3 x 24 = 3,920
    Dark Mistress 08 - (23500/50) / 6 x 24 + 3,920 = 78.3333 x 24 + 3,920 = 5,800
    Dark Mistress 10 - (36000/50) / 6 x 24 + 5,800 = 120 x 24 + 5,800 = 8,680

What do you guys think, would this be handy for anyone ?

You should also take into consideration that creature's speed, training room's efficiency and creature's training value affect the time required for them to train.

Now, I just wanna understand what's the point about all that? What do you wanna achieve?

I would actually conclude that this means that they actually do quit training for a moment during celebration, so the training (and training cost) would be reset so it could level up again before having to pay again.

The lesson: don't pull out conclusions too quickly.

Also, did you use the question mark button from the bottom of the Information Panel to track the creature's experience while training? That'd probably be a better way to determine when it does/doesn't gain experience than simple assertions.

Since its meant for a Player, I would assume the room to be pretty much efficient (hence using a 5x5 room)
Creature Movement Rate doesn't affect, they still gain XP based on their Training Value.
Haste has been factored into the calculation and treated as doubling the Training Value (see calculation for Orcs & Dark Mistress)

Now, I just wanna understand what's the point about all that? What do you wanna achieve?
Basically, to have a yardstick how many blocks of gold to leave around for the Player to hit about level 6-8 on his Creatures before being "forced out" to collect Gems. Assuming that Workshop Economy is not an option.

In other words, simply to assist in building challenging maps.

I would actually conclude that this means that they actually do quit training for a moment during celebration, so the training (and training cost) would be reset so it could level up again before having to pay again.

Actually, the mechanics of it is pretty much unimportant compared to the fact that they do INDEED gain XP while levelling up, effectively getting you free time n the Training Room. But I'll do a check and let you know, it is possible that it is just like what you said.

Also, did you use the question mark button from the bottom of the Information Panel to track the creature's experience while training? That'd probably be a better way to determine when it does/doesn't gain experience than simple assertions.
That's a great idea that said, I am just trying to get an approximate cost for a Creature to Level up to a certain level, rather than actually being concerned when it does / doesn't gain Experience.

The efficiency of a room usually effects how many Creatures can work in that room at one time, not their working efficiancy.
