Just curious to see who here at the Klan is planning on/has purchased Skyrim.

Certainly the release of the year as far as I'm concerned - and 2011 hasn't exactly been a slow year for big titles.

SO much released this year... nonetheless this will be the highlight. I shall get it, but I really want to pick it up cheap - from overseas likely where it won't be $90. Stupid Aussie regional pricing. How much is it going for in US$, PK? It will be awesome, anyhow.

So familiar, yet so fresh. And so much improvement where improvement was warranted.

Also want to get around to Stronghold 3 at some point though.

Are you into the physical copy shit. The sentimental jazz? Personally, I value my money a lot more than a disc or manual. If you have paypal (or electronic banking/credit card/a method to pay online) and don't mind about lacking a pretty box, I have suggestions

    How's $ 40 USD sound?

They're due for keys on release day.

    Or maybe $46?

I haven't used the first site personally, though I can vouch for Ultimatum. You get sent the CD key via email and then register it to Steam (or Origin, whatever the game is for). If the game isn't released yet, it takes about a day to get your key. I'm expecting my two (bought one for a friend) on the 12th.

Merely the fact that Skyrim will be big. Dunno how big, but undisputedly it will be big. At least 10 gigabytes, more. Something like that anyway. Digital distribution is fine, but internet plans have caps... and I don't have it to myself . Add to that the fact that even DD is often marked up dramatically.

The amount of downloads I use and amount of sleep I get are inversely proportional.

I have a 50/50gig plan, with offpeak from 2-8 in the am.

I /should/ be going to bed earlyish for the next 2 weeks on account of exams and studying and not being tired, but on the other hand, I want to sink my teeth into it as soon as I drop my pen from my psych exam.

You know what would be nice? If steam had a goddamned download scheduler.

Incidentally, the second website I linked had chucked the price up $11 as they're getting it for more now. $57 is still a good $33 cheaper than I'd buy from EB Games...

I never buy new games. Here's why:

    1. I have too many games that I have never yet played, and I have them
    2. It is too expensive, I'd better wait for another insane Steam sale and get it for like, 5$
    3. I don't have time to play it anyway

I noticed that I hardly play any games at all lately. About once per week for a few hours. Tremendous lack of free time. And if I do, I play something deeply loved, like HOMM3.
