Idea from the Overlord.

Having decorations increase Creatures moods, and make them more resistant to no pay/sleep/food.

Available through library/workshop/some special "decorations" menu, I dunno.

What do you think?

Decorations like: dead branches, flashy thingys, horny portraits (sounds vulgar) and stuff like that? and if you decorate well and the feng shui of the room its perfect, something nice happens.

No seriously...

Edit: Hell now that i think about you can even give your creatures a mistress poster for they're lairs

I like the idea of specific areas in your dungeon that increase creatures moods but I think they should be found and not made. For me making them seems a bit too much like ...The Sims. Of course the decorations would have to be evil they couldn't be rugs and wall hangings. The motto is 'evil is good' not 'knitware is good'

the line between the sims and normal gameplay element is "which table do I choose, the pink one, or the one with kittens?"

We won't have that. we will have 1 (2 max) basic elements for each room type and for walls.

Nah... i was thinking more like the cutscenes from DK2... after all we want the creatures motivated to work... not just stare at the poster 100% of the time >.>

I think basically the idea is good. But instead of comparing it to the Sims, compare it to the Anno games, where you have some statues, and a gallow. Also, maybe these decorations shouldn't be placed anywhere in your Dungeon, but instead they may be upgrades to your Dungeon Heart (and maybe portals?).

Example: you buy the Horny statue 'upgrade' and in every corner of the Dungeon Heart a Horny statue appears, which in turn has effect on your Dungeon (or maybe it has an area of influence, or every time a creature passes your Dungeon Heart an effect is given for x minutes...) Geez, this should be really thought over. We could brainstorm about this for some time :P

What if statues and posters are unlockables! Other ideas for unlockables:

-hand design
-dungeon heart
-menu design
-bonus levels

and other stuff that you can think of
