Author's Note
The Maiden's idea came from the idea of "Iron Maiden", actually. She is supposed to be a buffer Hero type unit, but as you may say, there is the Monk. Well the Maiden specializes more in buffing, and cannot deal "Holy Damage" as the Monk can, leaving his greatest uniqueness in tact. She also can't fight in battle, and her true uniqueness is in the encouragement job. Although seemingly powerful, do note that under a careless Keeper she will die very quickly. She also takes a long time to train and it will surely cost quite a lovely sack of gold, further balancing her out.
As for her Fire Elemental, well, that's more so in response to the Dark Mistress having Ice Elemental and originally they were designed to be counterparts. I figured Dark Mistresses had Ice due to their cold personality, so a Maiden would have fire because of their warm personality.
About the Maiden:
The Maiden is a blessed woman of beauty, and is by far the most attractive of the Hero females. And thus brave Knights often stand in front of her as guards in order to protect her. Her charming magic is enough to encourage others to work harder in order to impress her whenever she passes by. However, she sometimes favors (Attaches) one particular Hero. (or even Creature) She then neglects all others and gives this lucky Hero all of her attention, thus giving him a great boost in effectiveness. She holds a very kind heart, capable of being compassionate towards both good and bad. Her magic of fire has been granted to her by the holy gods due to her loving warm-blooded heart.
Behavior in Dungeon:
The Maiden usually doesn't do much inside of the dungeon, except wander around the dungeon or sleep. That is, if she cannot find anyone to attach herself to. (Encouragement job) However, sometimes she just enjoys the walks. (As in, she may not attach herself to anybody even if she is capable of doing so if left without orders) She naturally won't train or research, but is willing to do almost any job given to her, except for manufacturing.
The Maiden has no particular enemies, (aside from the Dark Mistress, Succubus, and Witch) and can get along with nearly every Creature, Good or Evil. The Maiden's kinder heart allows her to be sweet towards even Creatures like Trolls and Orcs. However, for obvious reasons, she isn't as nice to female Creatures, yet she isn't mean to them either. By keeping a neutral relationship with them, she still gets along with them just fine.
She generally becomes very happy by the most basic of needs, and that is sleeping and eating. It is best not to wake her up during her sleep time as that is probably the most upsetting thing for her. Gold isn't as meaningful to her as it is to other Creatures, however, she does feel she herself is quite an expensive luxurious type of a woman, and so she does request a high pay. She's willing to forgive you for being unable to pay her once, however, a second time you may be pushing your luck...
Slapping a Maiden is also very risky as she well, as she responds almost as aggressively as a Horned Reaper. She doesn't like passing by the Torture Chamber either, and doesn't recieve happiness when stepping on a dead enemy. Concepts of war do not please the Maiden, she prefers peacefulness whenever she can. As such, she does enjoy a nice trip to the Temple. When she falls for one of your Creatures, she is slightly harder to annoy (Unless you do something really bad such as slapping her) due to her "falling in love with your Creature".
The Maiden is not a drinker, and will not willingly go to the Tavern. She isn't one to be upset without much work to do, as she enjoys the calmness in life. Without work, she may just wander about or sleep. If attached, she'll hang around her Attached Creature instead. Too much work can also have negative effects on her. This does not include Encouragement-related tasks, however, as this isn't work to her and more of a hobby you could say.
Behavior Outside of Dungeon:
The Maiden doesn't like uncomfortable positions like caves of water and wastelands, and usually is found to be in a castle of some sort. Big or small, it doesn't matter to her, as long as she has a Knightly or Noble-figure to stand as her guard. It isn't unusual to see her in the Lair of the Lord of the Land, inside the final area of a Hero Fortress. Sometimes, she likes to think of herself as the Queen if she has the Lord of the Land as her guard. She may use her Encourage job if left without any real commands in the editor.
Behavior in Battle:
Buffer Unit Type
The Maiden will not and cannot attach herself to anybody mid-battle, however, her battle movements depend if she is attached to anybody or not.
If the Maiden is attached to someone, she usually will stay behind them and use Fireball or Meteor to support them. She will NOT use Heal, Protect, Cure, or Immunity on ANYONE BUT the one she is attached to, making her an excellent personal buffer. In order for her to even use the Empower spell, she MUST be attached to someone. (Note: The Heal\Protect usage depends on the recharge time. If it is DK1-ish, it will be attachement only. If it is DK2-ish, it won't matter)
If the Maiden is not attached to someone, however, she will stay in the back and deliver fireballs to help aid the fight. She also will be using Protect, Heal, Cure, and Immunity on her allies. If does not have Fireball, (Level 4 or below) then she will rush forward and deliver melee attacks. Due to her clear melee weakness, it is best to level her up to 5 before considering her usage in battle.
While attached, the Maiden will be fearless in battle. She will not run as long as long as her Attached Creature lives. If said Creature dies, however, she will become even more fearful than normal. For a moment when her Attached Creature dies, she will be very scared, which may cause her to run away immediately if the enemy threat level is too high.
Strengths:
- Great Buffer/Defensive Unit
- Easy to Handle for the Most Part
- Boosts Efficiancy of Others
- Gets Along Well with Most Creatures
- Stays Happy by Basic Needs
Weaknesses:
- Very Expensive
- Trains Slowly
- Very Risky in Battle
- Doesn't Like Work Overload
- Very Difficult When Upset
Jobs:
The Maiden's only job is Encouragement, which is what she does to "Attach" herself to other units. Obviously, they must be Male, and have a gender of some kind (As in, no insects, undead, etc). Once she does, she follows the Creature around until her Encouragement Job is interrupted. (Encouragement Job is not "interrupted" by normal means. Even if she leaves to eat or sleep, she'll still remain with the same Creature. It only stops when she's picked up, or one of them dies. If the Attached Creature is picked up, she'll stand there until he's dropped then head towads him)
If her Attached Creature ever dies, she will become very unhappy. While she is attached to a Creature, she will try and do whatever job the Creature does. If said Creature is a fast trainer, and levels up beyond her powers reach, she will remain attached to the Creature unless her Encouragement job is interrupted.
The following is a list to show what level she must be at the least compared to other Creatures in order for her to be able to attach herself to them, or for them to be effected by her. There are some Creatures she can never attach herself to, however. These are powerful Creatures like the Horned Reaper. Note that if she is level 10, she can attach herself to anybody, except for those truly powerful units.
Weak Creatures: 2 Levels Below
Average Creatures: Same Level
Strong Creatures: 2 Levels Above
The Maiden usually has a preference of who she wants to attach herself to. Within her preferences, she chooses the highest level possible. Here is a list of her preferences.
1. Knightly
2. Noble
3. Human
4. Humanoid
5. Other
You can tell the Maiden to try and attach to one particular unit by dropping her on the same tile of another Creature. She will only attach herself to the Creature if she and he fit the requirements.
Whether or not the Maiden is attached to someone, she can still grant a boost in Job Efficiancy to others. She only effects Creatures who fit the requirements. At Level 10, she grants even more of a boost. When the Maiden is not attached to anybody, Creatures in the same room as her will have a 7% boost in efficiancy and a 9% boost when she's Level 10. When she is attached to someone, said Creature recieves a 25% efficiancy boost and a 35% boost when she's Level 10. However, when attached she no longer effects other Creatures in the same room as she. Note that efficiancy plus cannot be stacked, nor can multiple Maidens attach themselves to the same Creature.
If the Maiden becomes angry, she will simply leave the dungeon. However, if she is attached to a Creature, her anger job will be the same as her Attached Creature. Whether it be rebel, leave dungeon, or attack allies, she will follow that anger job like it is her's by default. If her Attached Creature is unhappy or angry, then the Maiden will slowly cheer him up, but only if she is happy. If she is unhappy, her mood will also be effected by his. When she is unhappy, her Attached Creature will slowly become unhappy as well. If she's angry, well, there pretty much is no stopping them. The Attached Creature will become angry quickly, and then they'll both activate their anger jobs at the same time.
When the Attached Creature is tired, the Maiden will take him to her own Lair. If the Maiden is tired, the Attached Creature will take her to his Lair. Both things will occur without delay, (Meaning their current job is interrupted, the one downside) and their recovery of health also doubles. They also only need to sleep for half the time, and whoever wakes up first will wait for the other to wake up before they continue on.
Lair and Food:
The Maiden's Lair is a very nice looking bed that is fit for a queen. There are curtains or whatever to hide her figure when she sleeps. (I will get a picture whenever I'm not lazy)
It takes up two tiles only, and she may be Lair Enemies with the Witch, Succubus, and maybe the Dark Mistress.
The Maiden doesn't go to bed very much, but she likes to sleep longer than most Creatures. She also doesn't eat too often, however, when she does, she usually can eat two to three chickens.
Loves:
Knights
Encouraging
Peacefullness
Hates:
Witches
Succubus
Dark Mistresses
Battle
Appearance:
I have no images of anything besides hair style atm, but here is a description:
She has brown hair in this (#142) style. She probably will have very light clothing, maybe a dress, and that is all I can think of >.< She definately will appear elegant looking, like a Queen or Princess.
How Introduced:
Hero, possibly Mid-Late Game. An idea for the map she's introduced in is possibly going to involve her being imprisoned and thus must be rescued. (damsel in distress)
Obtainable By:
Hero Portal, Neutrals, Converting, Temple
Attraction:
9 Tiles Lair
7 Tiles Temple
3 Tiles Scavanger Room
Sacrifice Combination: Succubus + Warlock
Hero Sacrifice Combination: Fairy + Monk
Entrance Effect
Some fire appears at the bottom of the Portal and the Maiden rises atop a cloud with hearts circling her. The hearts disperse as her cloud moves her toward ground and then she gets down gracefully and proceeds into the dungeon.
Torture:
The Torturer will probably be using a magical staff of some kind and be blowing a blast of ice or something, probably appearing similar to Liquid Nitrogen :P (unless you want something kinky... ;P)

Hahahahah, Dota pic! DOTA PIC!
On topic, i don't mind the idea, but given the two point five billion suggestions one must consider; is the one the creme de la creme, or is it just another thing for the developers to wish they could have had the staff (and pay!) to implement?
Creature Profile Here
Pf another mistress.
an absolutely dull, uninteresting creature with an absolutely random set of skills.
Make something more original.
And good point, Searingflame. Remember, only 10% of those ideas will reach WFTO. So Make your idea really interesting and original if you hope for it to reach the project.

I picked fire because the Mistress is cold-blooded and uses ice. I figured a hero version would be more warm and using fire. I can improve some stuff later, don't feel like it now.

you have a lot of things that do not connect in the text.
Like, "The Maiden gets along well with all creatures"
and you write "hates, that and female creatures, especially the Mistress."
then you write "The Maiden is a beautiful hero that weakens her enemies with her magic spells"
and there is not a one "weakening spell" those are all destruction and boosting spells.
Defense: Medium-High
Armour: Very Low
Hows that. mid-high def and low armour. Duh? We won't include such thing as parrying attacks, it's too advanced.
"She also makes tortured creatures more likely to give information or convert to aid her cause"
that's what mistress does. Dont take her job away.
Now, the set of skills = Warlock/Wizard. Another warlock/wizard, with high defense (?) and very high agility (?). A warlock-ninja, basically. Duh.
Check those things and rethink the idea, else its a joke.

But you do know that in DK1 Defense is how well they dodge, right? And actually, the Mistress just tortures herself for your/her own amusement. But fine, if you want to cut back where she is best used in the dungeon.
And I already thought of that, but you're only looking at DK2. In DK2, It can easily made so her fire isn't as strong, but in DK1, those two have alot more than just fire. Especially the Wizard who kicks serious ass.![]()

so if there is one fire unit, why do you need another one. here is my point.
I'm honestly okay with this Hero. Dungeon Keeper was lacking in female Heroes.
But the Encourage job seems... a bit powerful...
