    This makes me think that there could be statues scattered across the maps, just for appearance. It would be cool to have some huge forgotten statues in chasms and maybe fountains in lava and water. They don't necessarily have to do anything but is sure would look nice to walk across a long bridge over a chasm and have big statues on both sides.

    This suggestion's goal is two-fold, to liven up the landscape and to diversify game-play. If you are going to have them, you may as well have them do something.

    I fully support the idea; it makes multiplayer a bit more competitive however I'm afraid that once a special is captured, the game balance gets loose. If these are going to be in a map then:
    1)both teams must have one easily available early game (and not so much to the other)
    2)must be well guarded so that it doesn't cause heavy difference once obtainable late-game

    I don't see these being much of a threat against game balance. They're kind of like Dungeon Specials from both DK1 and DK2, and you'd see these around occassionally in multiplayer maps as well.

    Also, these specials encourage exploration, so it can only be a good thing.
