I vote for DK1 Skeletons.
You're kinda overrating them, though. Unless they're running around in packs of 20 with all of them at level 10 they die rather easily.

DK1
DK2
New System (Suggest Please)
Alright, what Skeletons should we be using? And I mean "style"
DK1 was where only Humanoids would become Skeletons, but Skeletons were worth a damn and were pretty strong. They trained quick too (Although there was a bit of a problem with Lightning Spam on this)
DK2 is where anyone becomes a humanoid Skeleton, even Fireflies. No I don't think we should make a Skeleton out of odd-shaped creatures like the Bile Demon simply because that is way too much work for our Modellers, and it also means we go with DK2's style for sure.
And also, Skeletons here were the ones that didn't leave any dead body, so when they died you could not recover them. That means it was nearly impossible to train a Skeleton in the Combat Pit, so they couldn't really advance beyond level 4, and even then they were easily hammered and taken out in about 3 seconds. This pretty much encourages converts.
Or should we create an entirely new system? In this case I'd like to hear some suggestions otherwise it is pretty much a "Null vote"
I vote for DK1's Skeleton, because otherwise there wasn't much point in including the Skeletons, because even Beetles/Flies had more usage than them.

Are you talking about the DK1 Skeletons? Well what you say there is basically an exploit. At that level they own just about anything nearly instantly, including the Avatar.
Skeletons have a use in being able to train fast, and replace others in the Workshop/Library while the primary users can train. But they also make great guards, and what creature doesn't die easily? They're average fighters, but I do think they should at least be to level 5 for the Protect, and that we need to replace Lightning with something else because a powerful spell like that shouldn't be in the hands of a unit that is easily expandable and trains fast.

Probably DK 1.
Although I would like to see a combonation of the two, Skeletons coming only Humaniod enemies and are worth something, but upon death they are no more.
However, skeletons can ressemble themselves in the RP...
A new suggestion is that the skeleton can put itself together if left ''dead'' for some time. It probably can only do this once before the bones get too damaged to be reassembled.
Current Thoughts:
-DK 1 Skeleton (I liked DK 1 Skeletons)
-DK 1 / 2 Skeleton (Humaniod Only, Worth Something, Lost upon Death)
-New Idea (Humaniod Only, Worth Something, Can be ''rebirthed'' once.)
Sire has now truly departed. This account is awaiting banishment and deletion.
Well now that falls under the discussion of which training system we use.
For up to level 4, that would be great for DK1 skeletons as they were strong, for up to level 10 DK2 Skeletons somewhat since they are not as strong but I can imagine how annoyed someone will be when they lose their Skeleton/all the gold they invested.

If DK1 system, it's easily countered because the prison is researched relatively compared to some rooms. Secondly, that player has to sacrafice some humanoid creatures to create Skeletons. At best low level Warlocks and Trolls, at worst Orcs and Mistresses or even Vampires, who are much more worth than a Skeleton.
You forgot to add one thing Duke.If DK1 system, it's easily countered because the prison is researched relatively compared to some rooms. Secondly, that player has to sacrafice some humanoid creatures to create Skeletons. At best low level Warlocks and Trolls, at worst Orcs and Mistresses or even Vampires, who are much more worth than a Skeleton.
In DK1's system, everything counts against the creature limit. Sacrificed bonuses, Heroes, Undead, everything.
In DK2, undead can be spammed, Sacrifice bonuses don't count, and you can convert all the Heroes you want. This was one serious problem in DK2, and in DK2 nearly every creature counted due to the overall low amount of 15 creatures compared to a common 20-30.
So in DK1, pretty much it meant you had the same amount of creatures either way, didn't really count much. And Trolls are useful in the Workshop too, the BEST!![]()
