It seems the file server I used for large releases (at bitethebyte.com) was only available for one year. It no longer works.

Can anyone provide me with a new server for uploading releases? It would be best if the server could be available for a bit more than one year.

You can upload releases to the keeper klan server: http://www.keeperklan.com/downloads.php?do=add&cat=7

Scratch that, i will come up with something better. You can still upload there if you want.

There's also the DK.net server if needed.

Is there FTP or SCP access? If there is, then I take it :)

The problem has returned - I need a place to publish KeeperFX releases.

I would prefer SFTP/FTP or shell (SCP) account. But if there are none... well, I could try HTTP upload too.

Is it possible to upload via FTP/SCP on ModDB?

You can use mine, f0wh.info. I'll give you FTP access if you want so you can upload your files through ftp transfer

Filefront.com has always served me loyal.

The FileFront allows only HTTP upload, right?

So the f0wh.info is a better choice. f0wh, how long are you planning to keep the server online?

No... Filefrton is used for any type of file upload. Its used to upload patches, maps and mods for games. Here an example site: "http://jediknight3.filefront.com/". This site is also owned by the filefront company. It has many sites like these for many games. And the only mirror they have is Filefront ;). So its not only http.

I suspect you dont know what HTTP actually is, as it has nothing to do with file types.

Actually, I found a page where they claim you can apply for FTP account; but I didn't had much success in doing so:

Delivery to the following recipient failed permanently:

[email protected]

Technical details of permanent failure:
Google tried to deliver your message, but it was rejected by the recipient domain. We recommend contacting the other email provider for further information about the cause of this error. The error that the other server returned was: 550 550 No such user - psmtp (state 14).

You uploaded using a webpage right? Which implies HTTP upload. And you know about FTP and not HTTP, wtf?

Resume support?
And better coding for binaries -> faster upload. And security, ofcorse (SFTP).

Thank you all for your suggestions.

I'll be publishing KeeperFX at the Keeper Klan server.
