total fail xD.hamachi wont install on win98,gameranger neither so dk2 1.7 for mp is a broken dream

DK2 on Win98 is absolutely not that bad. I mean the game was intended to be made for that OS and is more compatible. Even the level editor works better under Windows 98SE.

However, for the multiplayer, it can indeed become a problem.

If u read the topic again you'll see that im saying that i cant instal hamachi or gameranger on 98 dk2 works for that matter.AND 2ndly i played dk2 1.3 online and YES i crashed.RIP.

And you, if you read my topic again, you'll see that I'm saying that for the multiplayer, it can indeed become a problem... because indeed, it can't support Hamachi or GameRanger. :rolleyes:

I use win98se when i play dk2 multiplayer via hamachi.

I used Virtual PC and installed win98 within it on my new computer. I have hamachi installed on my standard operating system and the default emulated network adapter in windows 98 (guest operating system) uses my standard operating systems network. So network compatibility problem with win98 is solved.

In virtual pc win98 i've set my RAM to 128Mb and use an emulated S3 trio graphics carb with 4Mb memory and emulated soundblaster 16.

When me and my frends play and they use the same setup, the game almost never crash, perhaps 1 in 10 games
