Hi Guys,
Ive known KeeperFX for about 3 hours, and im LOVING it !! Great that someone shares the passion for DK :)
Ive been using 0,37c since 0.38 had som mouse problems on my Win7 64 machine.
But in the first level of the imp campaign, there is a purple gem that makes the game crash. Whenever I scroll to it, the game crashes. I can play the rest of the map fine.
Has anyone ever experienced the same problem?
Regards,
hush

What does the log say?
Try also using the debug version.

I don't really know, sincerely. I checked the level through the level editor and nothing seems wrong. It didn't even crash at all. I'll try myself to play that level under KeeperFX and see if it crashes.
You said you returned to KeeperFX 0.37c. Please ensure that the folder which contains the version of KeeperFX you're playing is named : Keeper. It may happens that KeeperFX takes data at the wrong place. DO NOT mix the versions into eachother: install each version separately into different folders.

This is interesting. I have a folder called Dungeon Keeper
Under this I have 3 folders:
KEEPER - This is an old folder from original game
keeperfx_ccp_0_37_complete - the one I am playing
keeperfx_ccp_0_38a_complete
So after your post I removed KEEPER folder, and renamed keeperfx_ccp_0_37_complete to 'Keeper'
Started the game again. But it still crashed :( :( :(
Maybe there is something Im doing completely wrong here...

Is the "KeeperFX.cfg" okay?

Is the "KeeperFX.cfg" okay?
I thin kso. Not getting any errors on it.
here it is:
; Path to the DK files. Usually leaving it as "./" will work.
INSTALL_PATH=./
; How many of the game files are on disk; irrelevant option.
INSTALL_TYPE=MAX
; Language definition; sets options for displaying texts.
LANGUAGE=ENG
; Keyboard definition; irrelevant.
KEYBOARD=101
; File format in which screenshots are written; BMP or HSI.
SCREENSHOT=BMP
; Three frontend resolutions: failsafe, movies and menu resolution.
FRONTEND_RES=640x480x8 640x480x8 640x480x8
; List of in-game resolutions. ALT+R will switch between them.
INGAME_RES=640x480x8
; Censorship - originally was ON only if language is german.
CENSORSHIP = OFF

Ok. Now I tryed to load the savegame in v0.38 which worked. I can now see the gem. :) Althoug it looks very weird, like a library and gem mixed together.... perhaps this is what is causing the crash in 0.37. (see attached file)
So you might ask - Why dont you use 0.38 then? Well, because I have the mouse movement problem there :(

Ok. I installed keeperFX on my laptop. (also win7 x64)
Here 0.38 works like a charm without the mouse problem. So I loaded the savegame from before, and miraculously it didnt crash when scrolling over the gem.
Until I marked it to be mined, moved away, and moved back. The game crashed again. Im pretty sure its a map issue since imps didnt know how to mine the gem either. And combined with the weird look of it, it must be a map problem.
So I have moved on to a different campaign. Until now it hasnt crashed.
Still need to figure out why my desktop PC's mouse is so weard in DKFX...
Thanks for the help sp far !!

If you will play that level again from beginning (without savegame) in 0.38, it will probably work, too.
If the saved game is damaged, it will crash in any version.

I reloaded the level. it doesnt crash now! How is this possible? can the savegame be corrupted somehow?

Mixing savegames with different versions can cause a lot of weird things to happen.
