finally after like an hour of search the microsoft compatabilty application tool 5.5.[downloaded from microsoft] worked :D
if any1 else needs the information to get dk1 on vista working message this post and ill reply ASAP

Try KeeperFX, it doesn't need installation. Just unrar and done.
I know it works easier on 32bit versions, I run 64bit so I'll stick with VPC and win98. works just as good. :P

did that before it craches on opening map
dk1 works fine using dosbox.
for deeper dungeons and editor i have to use my moms old computer.

install diretX 9.0C! it willl add older game supports. not overwrite your directx10 or higher.
then run under xp SP2 with Windows compactilbilty.

KeeperFX works fine on my Vista without having to do anything to make it.
