Elite creatures : How to get them

Elite creatures can be brought into your dungeon by creating specific room layouts as shown below. They will then emerge from your portals if your creature limit isn't at its maximum. Elite creatures are stronger, more efficient and better in battle than their normal counterparts and some have a slightly different physical appearance.

Notes :
- Elite creatures are only available if the version of the game is 1.6 or higher. Note however that, if you're using the version 1.6 of the game, elite creatures return back to normal creatures after loading a saved game.
- You can only get ONE elite creature for EACH species of creature.
- If an elite creature is killed on the current level, it is gone for good for the rest of the level.
- Elite creatures don't show up in Campaign levels.
- The room layouts are cardinal points based. This means that the top side of a room is the North side, right side is East, left side is West and bottom side is South.

wow... that displays of room settings looks really creative O.o...

Never bothered in making Elites for 2 reasons:

1.- i wanna be equal to the computer.
2.- i just dont feel like memorizing room setups... i have enough already with the temple sacrifices...

Were those taken from the pics I did all them years ago? :spider:

Nope, I did them by hand using the editor icons. Even, I did a mistake between Elite Firefly and Elite Goblin. Just look at the image names to understand...

Easiest thing to do is to actually make it in the map editor program and take a screenshot. :spider:

I noticed that if you have a hero portal and the right room combination- you get elites

Do non-elite creatures also vary in power?
When I put two creatures of the same type and level to fight in the arena, one of them usually loses health faster and is almost defeated while the other one still has half of it's health left.

Is one creature actually stronger or do the attacks range from minimum to maximum damage dealt?

Don't forget is the position of your Creatures DOES matters. Creatures attacking from the south are stronger than the ones from the north. ;)

Isn't that an imbalanced bug?

Not to mention I found something that could be causing it.

I drop my creatures at the east and west end of the arena though. When they fight north-south it's hard to heal the northern creature.

And what is it?

I know that in the Dungeon Keeper 2 Editor Pro, there's the "Death Fall Direction", but I tested it by changing the direction and there was nothing really different. Of course, I wanted to try altering that variable into the main Creatures.kwd file, but unfortunately, it wasn't included.

Oh, and a quick side-note: the images on the first page are temporarily unavailable. They'll be back asap.

Uhh... nevermind! >_>

I didn't think anyone tested it since nobody responded to it last time I mentioned it.

How do you place Lair/Hatchery tiles on the Editor maps:missile:

*Sigh*

First, you could have started with "Hello!" and ended with "Thanks!"
Second, that's not the correct place to ask this question.
And third, that question has already been asked (http://www.keeperklan.com/threads/485-lair-and-hatchery-problems) if you could have at least searched a little bit.

Random query (and i'm sorry if this is in the wrong place) i was wondering if anyone knew if someone had patched the main campaign levels so that you could have elites in them?

Mostly wanted this for a laugh as i like to sometime "pet dungeon" and faff around on the campaign levels after i'm done.

Also i thought about trying to complete some levels with just a few elites. Or just crushing the good guys because it is cathartic and i like watching the elites charge in first.

I understand however this may be more difficult than it first seems from reading some of the other posts due to some kind of level generation format changes implemented by 1.7 and it's attendant editors thus i don't think anyone has done it. Don't suppose anyone can tell me otherwise?

Already discussed here (http://keeperklan.com/threads/2700-Inlcuding-Elites-into-Campaign). Thanks for searching next time.
