Hey Keeperklan!

Last night we got a bit more of our ingame functionality expanded, though we coudlnt quite fit in the room placement so we're gonna hold off on videos for just a bit longer. However even so, i would like to show you guys the latest iteration of what we have currently, so here are some screenies for you to enjoy! Much of this should be familiar to you guys. Naturally, disregard the janky things like some natural tiles not spawning correctly, it will all be fixed :) As always, comments and questions welcome!


It all begins when you summon a couple of Servants

Then you mark tiles for excavation and the little bastards get to work!

They will dig out tiles, claim and fortify walls much like in DK

The ofcourse you build rooms over the claimed terrain, such as the Feast Hall shown here. (due that function currently not being in the game we built these rooms in the editor)

And then you proceed to place the objects that the room requires to be functional in whatever manner fits the space or your tastes and needs best!

I love this image most of all. It looks wonderfull with the rounded edge of the giant hall, the beautiful doors and wonderful pillars.

Gameplay wise, I'd love to place my own furniture in the room if that has meaningful strategic choices! It could give a massive additional layer in dungeon building and design.

The Throne Rooms are some of the most unique and visually powerful areas you will find underground, but they will certainly not be the only such places!

Aye, we're aiming for a greater depth of strategy and customisation here so this is the sort of stuff you can expect from us. We will get into how the walls work soon as well, that adds yet another layer to it all, and were not even going into creature control, AI and traps :D hopefully it will all add into one glorios heap of fun :D

We didn't want to come out with some half-assed promise that we might some day get to this point, we want people to know we're serious and capable of doing this :)

From those screenshots I have to admit though I don't quite like the look of the imp. From the render in the other threat I could make out it is inspired by plague-doctors, but from the side angle it looks a bit weird. I think it is because the look of the big hood doesn't quite match the look of the bare arms and slender, bony frame.

That area will hold abilities, stances and things like that. Not all creatures will have abilities that only you can activate, but the ones they use by themselves will also be listed and described there.

And in less visual news this week, we finally have the first basic iteration of our economy! There's not much to see as it's mostly just values for things detracted from a base pool, but still! In addition our team has grown by one, with a talanted sound designer coming onboard and he has already made some nice progress! Our composer is also preparing his theorycrafting to begin working on our first few tracks very soon, and we have recorded the last of the mocap for characters we need in the alpha demo!

I completely forgot to post on this a few days ago.

But very nice work so far, I really like that throne room!
How the ends of that room curve, it looks really nice.

And I eagerly look forward to decorating my rooms ala Evil Genius style~
