Can someone help me figure out what kind of unit she is? I can't seem to figure it out...

The Fairy is supposed to be a high potential support unit, the Dragon a long lasting low damaging tank unit, Vampire a large survival unit, Warlock a damaging unit, and the Giant a powerful melee damaging unit, but what kind of unit is the Priestess?

Looking at some spells and basic stats we can answer this but I need some more input. I can't change the Priestess if I don't know what she is supposed to be.

Disrupter?

Don't know for certain, she may try to disrupt more than do damage or support.

Did some quick notes in comparison to the Archer, Fairy, Monk, and Wizard to list info on the Priestess.

Physical Examination I really would like to do that on her...

Health is at 3rd place, equal to Archer
Strength is average, same as Archer and Wizard
Armor is highest, equal to Archer and Monk
Dexterity is second place, equal to Monk
Defense is lowest, Monk and Archer hold the upper hand
Second Lowest Luck, Barely higher than Wizard
Recovery is second lowest, barely higher than Archer and Fairy
Gold Held is average compared to the others
Pay is equal to Monk, Higher than Fairy and Archer but Lower than Wizard
Okay so she isn't physically strong, nor is she very quick or good at aim. And her clothing isn't of good armor. And she isn't very lucky or a good healer... She isn't greedy for gold at all, it seems.

Well this wasn't the best test for a Magical Support Unit, but I wonder where she does stand...

Magical Examination

Only Hero with Flight
Only Hero with Poison Cloud
Rebound at Level 4 (Earlier than Any Other Hero)
No Other Hero Has Whirlwind
1/3 Heroes with Lightning (Priestess Level 7, Fairy Level 4, Samurai Level 6)
Heal at Level 8 (Very Late In Comparison to Other Heroes)
1/2 Heroes with Navigating Missile (Priestess Level 9, Fairy Level 7)
1/3 Heroes with Hailstorm (Priestess Level 10, Wizard Level 7, Monk Level 9)

No other Hero has Flight, Poison Cloud, or Whirlwind. This makes her very unique.
Flight allows her to get over Lava like the Fairy which is useful.
Poison Cloud is a dark spell, considering how it damages by sufficating enemies who can't stand it. Unfortunately, she herself can't stand it and it also makes her quite weak.
Whirlwind is an anti-melee attack which works effectively at pushing away the gas, but also to get melee units away from her.

Rebound early on is also a good thing to have, same level as Knight. :)

Her particular set of spells don't make her very useful until later levels, and she can't deal much damage early on but is rather unique herself in a few spells she holds that no other Hero has.

Also an interesting note, she learns Hailstorm right after the Monk, an interesting personality note... :mistress:

That has some sense, using that idea her Whirlwind, Poison Gas, and possibly Hail suddenly make sense.

I had my own idea based off the Whirlwind and a custom setting in my RPG, that the Priestess was specifically aimed towards Melee units. Maybe she had more health, and a bit more physical stuff, as well as spells that made melee units not as good against her. So she's be more of a stand alone unit than of a support unit.

What do you think of that one?

Annoyer, with wind and gas they annoy the **** out of you unless you have Bile Demons.

Rebound and Heal also make her a ***** to take down.

She is one of the heroes I really dislike to fight against, especially if she has Lightning (level 6 or 7 I believe). But with only ranged units or Bilde Demons she is easily killed. Since her whrilwind is useless then.

Internally, the Priestess is called the "Witch" which means she's some kind of annoying and nasty spell caster. Sire was kinda right by saying that she's like a disrupter. She's the one that mess up parties by using her Wind spell.

Ah alrighty. I was lazy about replying to this first.

Yeah my patch is why I wanted to know what she is. I guess she'll have multiple versions like the Avatar and Horny. One where I'll leave her spells alone, the other where I made her more anti-physical unit. And the last is me screwing around with possiblities with her.

(No not the sexy fantasy possiblities)

She's a flanker unit.

she is simply the equivalent of a mosquito pestering enemies and tearing formations apart so id call her simply a pest

She's IMO one of the most interesting enemies to fight since you just can't drop a large pile of creatures close to her and expect to succeed (excluding bile demons to some extent).

When I bought Dungeon Keeper in the previous century, I hated her, because my 32 MB computer was not fast enough to calculate her Whirlwind defense.
Sorcerer/Warlock has it also, and I never train them to get that, because I had this memory problem. The whole game would stop, and creatures moved second by second, while I had to wait for several minutes before the attack spell would stop working it's devastating effect.

Bile Demons kill her quickly, but other creatures take a lot of damage, in the whirlwind attacks.
With the lightning strike, she kills imps with one shot.
When there is two or more of them, only one will stay for the kill by the Bile Demons, the others move to another place on the map.

If she is upgraded by a mapmaker, in health, she will be more dangerous than the Avatar.
If you have no Bile Demons, you need creatures with speed spell, to attack her, when she is waiting for the new whirlwind spell to become active again.
