    Continuing on to the next battle, the enemy rogue, Alice, attempted to sneak behind Elatos for a surprise attack. Fortunately for Elatos, he had his senses sharp enough to notice the rogue attempting to sneak in, and as soon as she attempted to strike with a poison attack, Elatos quickly dodged her and turned around.

    "Did you believe you could just silently take me out? Unfortunately for you, I will not fall for your lowly, dishonorable tactics. And I will not spare anyone who digs themselves that low."

    Elatos was backed by Tent, the ally Tentacle, who froze the rogue for him.

    "Now...Feel what your misdeeds lead you to."

    Elatos then proceeded to repeatedly stab his sword into Alice's motionless, defenseless frozen body. He took care to damage the ice layer around Alice as little as possible, in order to prolong the freeze duration, not breaking her out.


    Summary: Elatos dodged Alice's poison attempt. Alice then got frozen by Tent, and Elatos proceeded to stab her repeatedly for her insolence.

That is why I am here, to find the enemy...and delete it," Masega answered her. Nalina pondered about the words for a while as she trained. "You are right," Nalina replied at last before her calm voice turned to a hiss, "They burn our village... I will see them burn..."

    Nalina directed herself more towards Masega, "They kill everyone. Our kin, our sisters... We will see them die."

    Nalina's attacks against the training dummy became more vicious and aggressive as she spoke, clearly releasing her anger as it formed. Her attacks were much stronger than before. Not just because of her emotion, but her strength in itself had grown.

    Shay had been attacking Noro and, after he was defeated, Durgon. She had even shot the frozen Giramor several times as his Rebound had failed.

    "Keep an eye out you two, I'm sure those Invisible Rogues are going to appear as soon as that last Barricade falls," Crystice had warned her. She did that too, keeping one eye on the entrance.

    Her fellow archer, Zael, responded before turning towards Shaylum with a blush colouring her cheeks. Shay got the sudden and unnerving feeling that the dark elf was picturing her nude and drapped across something - probably a Guard Room table. Having slowly gravitated towards her ally during the course of the fighting she now began to inch away.

    "Nicely done," It was Zael. Shaylum recognized her not only as comrade in Tesonu's service but as the first creature of Tesonu that she had come into contact with. She had been attempting to seduce her and her two fellow guards like a wanton wench.

    The Dark Archer felt rather uncomfortable as she asked;
    ''Pardon?''

    When the Rogue's entered, she exclusively picked out Corn as her target and continued to attack him even after Crystice froze him - switching from broadheads to bodkins. While she missed a number of shots - even accidently hitting Ithique's armour with an ineffective broadhead - most of her shots landed. She just hoped her rival, or anyone else for that matter, noticed the latter miss.

    "Ithique! I said the female one! That's the male! Hurry before she heals him!"

    -(Deceit and trickery! The slimy he-wench did that on purpose just so I would miss.)-

    Ithique shunted his aim, steady hand on the foregrip, before unloading a bolt into Zaulsi's shoulder as she knelt over her comrade. He was already reloading. She spun around clutching her shoulder, but managed to muster the strength to fight on. Fight on she did. She pinpointed Ithique's location and loosed an arrow at his head. Luckily for Ithique it merely glanced the curved edge of his sallet and didn't impact lower.

    Ithique was still reloading.

    She fired again, burying an arrow deep in his shin. Ithique winced, but his legs were strong - used to carrying great weights in both arms and armour. He was also strong. Training with the Black Knights had taught him to embrace pain and use it fuel your anger. The Butcher's hands worked faster, loading his next bolt.

    He fired unloading a bolt into Zaulsi's stomach. She had fired at the same time, though. Her third arrow glanced his crossbow, cutting open his hand. It also severed his string before it bounced harmlessly off his chestplate.


    '"You will regret that!"'

    Ithique hefted his now useless the cross bow and hurled it towards his enemy - now a 12 kilogram metal-studded projectile. Unfortunately, as a projectile, a crossbow is not particularly aerodynamic and as a result it missed - instead impacting on bowstave first against the back of the recently recovered Erath's head as attempted to attack the traitorous guards. Lucky his skull didn't cave in nder the weight but most definately suffering from concussion; Erath was out for the count for a while, momentarily blacked out.

    The Butcher didn't waste time and charged, drawing his great battle axe. Victory would guide his hand. He lumbered towards his foe, fueled by liquid adrenaline and insatiable blood lust. Zaulsi - even injured, was much faster than he and easily avoided his slow powerful axe swings.


    '"I can do this all day, lady! Surrender now and I may only cut off you're limbs and feed them to Tesonu's pet dragon spawn!"'

    He grinned dastardly and punctuated his point by bringing his axe down on Erath's left arm. Blood pooled on the floor as th limb was severed at the elbow. Ithique closed in, trying unsuccessfully to back his foe into a corner.

    His attempts were cut short by the unexpected reappearance of Erath, who jumped onto his back, clinging on like a madwoman; his hair flying everywhere. He was attempting to garrote Ithique with a waxed bow string; It was a feet which one might consider impossible with only one hand, but the dark elf managed through unconventional use of his teeth. Ithique choked, flailing about, whilst Zaulsi took her leave, retreating towards the safety of the entranceway and attacking the Guards.


    -(Stupid stuborn dark elf! Why won't he just lay down and BLEED to death?)-

    Spots were appearing at the corners of his vision as the lack of oxygen began to bite.

    Ithique retreated towards the southern wall , slamming his opponent into it. By added bonus, Erath's carefully-groomed long hair made contact with a torch and burst into flames, quickly engulfing his foe's entire head. The curving back of his sallet was not disimilar to a fire helmet and protected him from the fire. It wasn't long before Ithique passed out, falling backwards and flattening his foe more effectively than a giant meat tenderizer.


    Over in Faircoast, Vermillion recoiled in disgust after accidentally witnessing the event. Not even wizards deserved that death.

    Viviona remained in a violent battle against Largo and Lena. Without a Speed Enchantment to keep herself up, Lena was of little aid to Largo. Largo had a difficult time keeping up with Viviona's furious wave of attacks. He was far outclassed. Her glaive flew this way and that way almost instantaneously. At one point, the two Guards tried to take up a strategy of Largo defending her blows and Lena launching a surprise attack with an opening. While they did succeed in getting a couple hits in, it ended up proving itself to be an ineffective strategy, one of which Viviona quickly caught onto. She adapted by giving an occasional swing towards Lena, forcing her to keep her distance.

    Largo was going down, and once he did, Lena would be no match for her. Viviona, within her mind, laughed and mocked Largo for his earlier words. He sounded so proud, so satisfied that he was making a difference. But in the end, it was all for naught. He couldn't stop her. He was only delaying the inevitable. Regardless of his betrayal to Cedric, he was still a Hero. That made him Viviona's personal enemy.

    Viviona's enchantments wore off simultaneously, and that gave the Guards a temporary advantage. Acting quickly, Viviona stepped back and cast Protect over herself. Her casting made it just in time before she was struck in the chest with Largo's spear. She swung her glaive across the air, forcing him to step back to avoid the blow. When he began to charge in for another, Viviona recasted Speed Monster, then parried the Guard's spear, only to be hit by Lena. Viviona overpowered Largo then knocked Lena's spear away. The battle continued as before.

    On the main battlefield, the Sentry Traps suddenly fired. The majority of them stupidly went for Balina, and were then reflected back towards Balina's attackers. One of them, the Southeast Sentry, fired at Viviona. Unfortunately, Viviona managed to dodge the fireball with little effort by stepping back a little. Not long afterwards does Fyla finally teleport herself to her proper place amongst the remaining support. Up until that point, she had been attacking Lena, rather than Rob. She found Giramor capable of handling Rob on his own.

    "Ew! What's this ugly looking thing?" Fyla questioned Zaulsi in disgust as she realized she teleported on Ithique. "No time for that," Zaulsi replied as she pulled her long, thin brown hair back before readying her crossbow, "We need to help Viviona take out those Guards." Fyla recast her Speed then joined the Dark Elf in her assault on the two Guards.

    Meanwhile, Corn broke free from his hellish prison of ice. He looked a little pissed off, but that was to be expected from someone who had been shot almost in the eye by arrows from a not-Elf. Corn angrily scanned the battlefield and decided to have a little revenge on his attacker. He readied a grenade and, instead of hurling it towards Shaylum as expected, he let it roll towards the northern wall.

    The grenade exploded next to Balina's attackers: Dreggory, Daryl, and Tara. With the Gobin Siblings having moved back a considerable distance towards the Entrance, the were unaffected for the most part. Pilnit, on the other hand, took the full explosion as did Tesonu's creatures. Corn then ran across the northern wall, hidden by the smoke of the explosion, and made his way towards Shaylum. Giramor casts Protect over himself and his sister moments after the explosion.

    The situation for Largo and Lena was getting worse, but still, they kept fighting on. They now had to deal with Zaulsi's arrows and Fyla's magic. Furthermore, Giramor and Balina were only a short distance away, almost pressing against them. Largo, taking the majority of the hits from Viviona and her support, cast Heal Self to compensate for the damage he took. Still, things did not look well for him.

    Unknowingly to all, Carl had entered the battlefield. He slid across the northern wall and passed through the smoke, shaking hands with Corn, then reached his destination. He stood by the unconscious Tentacles, Toe and Testi. Testi was dead, having bled to death from his earlier injuries. Toe, despite his terrible condition, looked like he could make it. Carl couldn't have that. He had very specific orders that needed to be followed. He looked around with the most extreme of caution, making sure no one saw his next move. When he was sure no one was looking, he thrust his pick-axe into the Tentacle's head, finishing him off. He was bleeding all over enough as it was. No one would notice a little more blood or another wound. Carl then left the battlefield.

    Summary: Viviona and the Guards fought, some hits on her, and she recasts Protect/Speed. Sentries fired, mostly on Balina and redirected back to her attackers. One was intended for Viviona but missed. Giramor casts Protect Group on Balina and Fyla. Fyla teleports to Zaulsi, casts Speed, and they begin attacking the Guards. Corn breaks free, throws a Grenade at the Northern Wall, and hits Balina's attackers. He sneaks through the smoke and heads for Shaylum. Largo casts Heal Self and the Goblins press towards him and Lena. Carl sneaks into the battle, finds Testi bled to death, and finishes off Toe.

    Grey the Archer, still in the workshop, finished working on his fourth trap. He left the trap crate, which contained a second sentry trap, beside the other ones.

    "Hum dee...man, it's boring as crap down in here. Maybe I shoulda went down to the whole battle thing after all."

    Grey took a moment to look around at the mostly silent surrounding that was the workshop, contemplating what to do next.

    "Nah. Not gonna go out there. Just gonna go for some more training instead."

    Grey left the workshop, and entered the training room. There were two maidens, who were also at work in the room.

    "Well hello, l--

    Grey then noted the lack of lower female human anatomy of the Maidens. They were both, after all, half-Spider, and those didn't interest him quite so much.

    "...adies? Eh, never mind..."

    Grey quickly turned his attention away towards one of the targets along the walls. He proceeded to hone his archery skills further.

    In the combat scene, Elatos continued to chip away at the frozen rogue Alice, assisted by Tent, the tentacle, who did the same. As time progressed, however, the ice started to melt and break away. At a certain point, Alice would almost be able to break free.

    LEVEL UP! YOU HAVE LEARNT: SPEED SELF!

    "Convenient...now is the time to strike."

    Elatos cast Speed Up upon himself, and held his sword behind him, both of his hands holding the sword. He focused for a couple of seconds, on the still frozen target in front of him. For his purposes, the time seemed even longer, due to the effects of Speed Up on himself. After those seconds of charging, he then quickly slashed forward, breaking into the ice with as much power as he could. The entire block of ice was immediately shattered by the hit, and Alice was knocked back southwards and stunned by the hit. During Alice's moment of daze, Elatos stepped forward towards her.

    "Death would have spared you."

    Elatos retracted his left arm, and formed a fist. As Alice recovered from her daze, the only thing she had time for to see was a fist flying fast straight towards her face. The force of the punch knocked her back into the southern wall, knocked her out, and to a certain extent of probability, broke a fair amount of bone that used to hold some structure in her face. Elatos didn't check the details, just that she was indeed put out of commision.

    As the battle still went on, Elatos overviewed the situation. He knew he had another target to pick out - or for another target, to pick out him - but kept behind for a moment, contemplating what would be the tactically most sound option for him.

    Summary: Elatos leveled up, smashed frozen Alice ice cube, and then smashed Alice's face.

    Suria the Blue Spawn of Rage

    Suria's Protect seemed to have disappeared at the most inconvenient of times. Pilnit thrust his knife into her stomach, catching her off guard. It gave her terrible pain and shock as the blow was more powerful than either of them expected. She let off a wild, furious hiss. Thrown into a blind rage, Suria grabbed Pilnit's other arm, the one she was previously clinging onto by her teeth, then viciously snapped at Pilnit's knife-wielding hand with her sharp, bloody fangs. Pilnit let out a loud cry of anguish, similar in volume to her hiss.

    Blood quickly dripped from Pilnit's hand. He let go of his knife and used his other hand to try and grasp his injured one. Suria loosened her grip on Pilnit's other arm, causing her to hang on Pilnit's hand with her teeth. It only increased his suffering. Pilnit pounded his fist into the Demon Spawn, then tried to kick her off. She would not release her grip. She was determined to bring him down.

    With pain and panic filling his mind, Pilnit couldn't think of a solution to get her to let go. He couldn't draw the strength as he could before, making forceful methods useless. But then, he suddenly realized the answer. He used his free hand and grabbed the knife still stuck in the Demon Spawn's gut, then retracted it as best he could. His rough extraction of the weapon tore at Suria's wound, but she still held on with stubbornness. Pilnit held the knife above her, planning to finish her once and for all with a good stab to the head.

    Pilnit's plan came to an abrupt halt when a new pain coursed through his body. His hand was burning. He tried to ignore the pain so that he could finish the Demon Spawn. Suria was roasting Pilnit's already bloody hand with her Fireballs before she finally let go. She was just in time as well, for she barely dodged Pilnit's diving knife. With no Demon Spawn to impale, the knife ended up landing in Pilnit's hand. He yelped in pain, but his voice quickly turned to deep grunts. It still hurt, but the pain could not compare to what he had just suffered prior. It was mostly the shock that got to him.

    Once on the floor, Suria leaped away from her foe. She had a good taste of his flesh and blood, but she craved more. This bloodlust was not born from her usual violent nature, but instead, a desire for revenge. Pilnit was already fighting a losing battle. From all the blood, pain, and general shock, he was beginning to black out. Anger was keeping him going, but just barely. He staggered about as he tried to regain his footing to launch an attack on Suria.

    He was given no opportunity. Pilnit was suddenly knocked to the ground by the force of a random explosion from behind. Suria, as well, was knocked over and fell on her side. The explosion finished the job for Suria, and Pilnit went out. Suria felt the glory of triumph, but lost the satisfaction when she was reminded of the wound in her stomach. She thought she remembered something about a Healer, somewhere. Unsure of herself, Suria began crawling around the battling enemy Goblins and made her way over to the Eastern Side.

    Malsiah continued to attack Balina for... a really long time. A dreadfully long time. Malsiah had no idea how long it had been; she only knew that she was getting bored of the spell. There was nothing of interest in her fight, absolutely no flavor. She let out a yawn and put up hand up over her mouth, even though she had the veil. She wondered what Balina was thinking, being forced to not only fight off three opponents but to have to deal with what Malsiah would consider to be an annoyance of excessive spell usage that constantly hindered her, even if only marginally.

    I really need to do something beyond just this... I question the efficiency of this method.

    Just then, there was a sudden explosion along the Northern Wall. Malsiah flinched and took a step back in both caution and in reaction to regain her balance after being pushed back a bit from the explosion. Fortunately, she was too far away to be truly affected by the explosion. She did, however, notice something emerging from the smoke. It was the figure of a man. Shortly after did the figure's identity become clear. It was the Rogue, Corn, the last Rogue still standing.

    "Hmhmhm! Perhaps I can have some fun with you instead," Malsiah whispered, though mostly to herself.

    Ironically, Malsiah's main offense and defense was with Melee. Blessed by her own magic, the covers of her books were about as tough as steel and could serve as a shield and blunt weapon that she magically swung through the air. While she, of course, was not comparable to a true fighter, she had enough defense to hold her own against lighter enemies long enough for it to matter. She could also launch effective surprise attacks and ambushes, which was about her only way of launching an offensive strike.

    Malsiah could simply turn invisible and surprise the Rogue in the back of the head. There was one flaw in her plan, however. What if the Rogue could see the invisible? It was fairly possible. There was another pressing matter on top of that. The Rogue seemed to have a definite target. He was looking directly at Crystice and heading towards her. While Malsiah didn't know why he singled her out, she didn't need to know that reason. It could be simply because she's their commander, if he even acknowledged that.

    Malsiah thought quickly. Though she had not remastered the spell again, she had practiced it enough to make herself confident in her ability to cast it. It was worth a shot.

    Here goes nothing. Time to earn myself some favor.

    Malsiah gave herself a twirl as if she felt the sudden urge to dance, then suddenly vanished from the spot itself.

    Crystice was quickly becoming frustrated. There was practically no target available for her to hit. Giramor and Balina, the easiest targets, were protected by a Rebound Enchantment. Fyla stood between the two, and thus also protected by their Enchantments. There were small opportunities here and there, but it was realistically impossible to skillfully strike the Dark Mistress. She would have to know in advance when her openings would be. If she had a fast projectile, it would be entirely possible. While Missiles were fast, they weren't quite fast enough and it still took her a moment to react and conjure. Archers certainly had it better than her, this time around.

    There was the possibility of Viviona, but Largo and Lena were blocking Crystice's view, making it a similar situation as with Fyla. Zaulsi and Erath were in a similar situation, as were Alice and Pilnit. The only available target happened to be far off on the opposite end of the widely stretched room. Crystice fumed. At the very least, Corn had been frozen by her prior to that moment, making him a still target. Still, it would be difficult for her to actively and effectively attack the Rogue from such a difference. She was lucky enough as it was with the Freeze spell.

    Crystice began launching Missiles towards the Rogue. While Missile was a spell of speed, rather than power, she fired each one slowly. She took much time properly aiming and preparing as to not waste her castings. While she could easily and recklessly fire a wave of Missiles, it would be a waste of her energy as only a handful of them would hit. Not to mention, she wanted to use the opportunity to improve her aim. In the end, she cast five Missiles and hit him with four.

    The Missiles began to chip away the ice from Corn. It wasn't a solo effort, however. Crystice noticed that Shaylum, too, had selected Corn as her target. Corn began to break free from the Freeze spell, then gave the two an annoyed look. Moments later, it looked like he tossed something towards the northern wall. She looked closely to see what it was, then her eyes widened with realization as she let out a shriek, "Look ou-!" Her voice was abruptly cut off by the explosion of the grenade.

    Crystice resisted the force of the explosion, not feeling much of it with her given distance from the grenade. Still, she was not as strong as some of the other fighters and the explosion did shake her a bit even after preparing herself for it. Sadly, Emmra had no chance of resisting. On top of being even weaker and distracted at the time, she was rather clumsy at times. Crystice heard Emmra let out a squeal as she tumbled onto the ground, ending up on her stomach.

    After she regained her balance, Crystice noticed a figure emerging from the smoke, then realized it was Corn. He had his eyes on bringing harm to Shaylum, but when he saw how close Crystice was, he figured he could do away with her first then lay waste to the Human Archer. Crystice fired off a few Missiles at Corn as he initiated a charge towards Crystice. One Missile struck his face while the rest hit his chest, but none missed from such close range. He seemed to shrug it off, and continued his pursuit, but his movement speed noticeably slowed down a bit.

    Deciding to use a stronger spell, Crystice prepared a Hailstorm casting. She intended to give him the full force of the Hailstorm, and waited an extra moment for him to get closer. Corn took out his knife as he neared Melee Range, then just when he was about to give a swing towards Crystice's neck, she released her magic. Corn bent over in both shock and pain, grasping his stomach and trying to figure out what had just happened to him.

    Without much time to cast another spell, one strong enough to push Corn back before he recovers, Crystice decided to try a different method. She pulled her hand back, her eyes filled with determination. She really hated Rogues. She had never met one that wasn't tempted to stab her master in the back, or wasn't a complete idiot. For some reason, it seemed they were either treacherous or stupid. Crystice had no tolerance for either trait, Rogue or not, yet they seemed to define Rogues. But out of all the Rogues she met, there was one she hated more than any other. She hated him more than anything else, period.

    He was the worst kind of Rogue. He was not only treacherous but he was also stupid. He had sabotaged her research and the Library once before, even disobeying direct orders at a crucial moment. Perhaps he wasn't outright treacherous, but he was stupid enough to be considered treacherous. It made no difference to her in the end. He is the most worthless Rogue she had ever met, and she held absolute hatred for him.

    Her eyes turned fierce. She threw her hatred for this one Rogue and all of his kin within her hand before letting it fly across Corn's face, striking him with such force that after being belt over, he lost his balance and toppled over onto the ground. Crystice gave the Rogue a furious glare as she breathed with heavy irritation. She took a deep breath and let it all out, releasing her anger.

    I can't believe I just did that...

    Then the next thing she realized was how much her hand stung from slapping Corn across the face so hard. The moment of anger, followed by triumph, had blinded her from the pain but now she could hide from it no more. Crystice gripped her hand and held it close to her chest, "Oww...!" Though it hurt, she knew it had to be done. But it was more than that. She felt pretty good about it.

    Unfortunately, it wasn't enough to keep Corn down. He was recovering already, and was beginning to return from his feet. He looked back towards Crystice, knife in hand, then suddenly lunged for her. Seemingly out of nowhere, a book came in from the side and struck Corn in the side of the head, knocking him to the ground and rendering him unconscious. Crystice was puzzled, but grateful. She quickly identified the attacker when she took notice of not only the book in question but the fact that it continued to hover in the air.

    "Malsiah..." Crystice spoke, then looked behind her to where Malsiah used to be, "How did you...?" Malsiah put her hand underneath her veil, over her mouth, "Hmhmhmm... Teleportation, my Lady Crystice." Crystice, being updated by Tesonu himself about his creatures' abilities, was surprised to not know, "Oh, I didn't know you knew that spell. Thanks." "My pleasure," Malsiah replied in a smooth voice.

    Turning her attention back to the main battle, Crystice saw that Giramor and Balina's Rebound Enchantment faded away. Now was the perfect time to strike. She began preparing a Freeze Spell as she aimed towards Balina, then fired. With a naturally high awareness along with training to back it, Balina saw it coming and continued to step back towards the Southern Entrance. With her foes following her in pursuit, one of them unknowingly stepped in her place and was struck by the Freeze Spell instead. Embarrassment and worry filled Crystice when she looked at the frozen Tara, "Gah..." She tried to make up for it by casting Ice Shards towards Balina.

    Emmra was looking back towards Shaylum and Zael when she heard an explosion and found herself stumbling forward and falling onto the ground. She was stunned for a moment but then managed to recover her awareness. She was flat on her stomach, arms spread out, and her breasts crushed under her weight. She got uo on her knees and muttered to herself, "Ouchie..." Being on her knees seemed to hurt more.

    Emmra pushed herself up then lifted the front part of her dress, just above her knee level. She found that she had scraped and bruised herself during the fall, right on both knees. "Yikes... I'll need to do something about that later..." Emmra turned her attention back to her sister, finding her speaking to Malsiah. Her attention ended up focusing on something else, however, and she saw a blue Demon Spawn heading towards this part of the room, appearing injured. Although Emmra immediately recognized the Demon Spawn as a comrade, she did not, however, recall a name.

    The Demon Spawn managed to finally reach them, then abruptly flopped over on its back, eyes closed. Emmra presumed it just went to sleep. She then noticed the wound on the Demon Spawn's stomach and rushed over to here. She sat down on her scraped knees, then put her hands upon the Demon Spawn's stomach wound. She sat there silently, focusing on nothing but the Demon Spawn and its open wound. After much concentration, she released her Healing Magic upon the Demon Spawn for a Perfect Heal.

    The Demon Spawn still remained asleep, and with many more injuries still. Emmra thought to cast an additional Heal Spell, but she knew that a consecutive Heal Spell would take longer to prepare and required much focus and energy to be effective. No consecutive Heal Spell was perfect, either, but she didn't want to leave the cute little thing as it was. Emmra began summoning up her Heal Magic once again...

    Emmra finally released the magic and healed the Demon Spawn for an additional 15%. It wasn't a lot, but still a significant amount. Not having cast a consecutive Heal in a long time, Emmra felt rather drained. She held a hand to the side of her head as it swayed back and forth without balance, "I feel... dizzy... tired..." Emmra's vision began darkening and she soon fell on her side and passed out from worn.
