    Woah....
@Khashul: It's not just "some code to bring it all together"

MeinC, could be an idea, instead of floor cracks, to have some animations on the camera and have the same effect of the Destroy Walls spell? Something like rock falling from the top map-wide, breaking out reinforced walls and and doing some damage to creatures and/or traps/doors?

    What do you think?

I don't think rooms and creatures should take damage, but it actually destroying walls and things, changing tiles, could be really interesting.

Now this is going to sound like a hard thing to do, but it would be badass if sometimes a destroyed wall from the tremor could let water in from it, filling up certain rooms, could add the randomness to map that makes it different when your playing it.

Map-wide sounds a bit excessive - all reinforced walls destroyed everywhere . In my opinion it would be cooler and more unpredictable to have it occur randomly across the map in random intervals - but otherwise, yeah, just like an enhanced tremor/destroy walls spell called down at different points .

Also - when i mentioned floor cracks I don't mean it literally. In the DK 2 editor for example there is a trigger that allows you to change the terrain type of individual squares.

    Wall > Dirt
    Dirt > Lava
    Water > Dirt

Just small random changes near the epicenter/target point of a quake. Obviously things like gold, gems and solid rock excluded. I'm not talking about massive chasms opening in the map or lava pouring down corridors

Anyway that was the original idea

This suggestion was made more than a year ago, and everyone liked it I believe. As far as my knowledge stretches, WftO has a much bigger and more capable team now which means that this would be more of a possibility.

    So?

I suggest that creatures lose morale while being on it

this could be quite cool, maybe make it turn a few impenetrable rocks on the level into dirt? but that could cause issues so probably not...

Yes, if impenetrable rock became dirt it would be a Mapmakers nightmare D=

Morale loss sounds interesting, but it would have to be very carefully implemented to prevent particularly seismically violent maps from being impossible.

Nah, no morale loss, please. That's just silly.

And also no impenetrable rocks > dirt or vice versa. Good luck having that and still having a viable map.

I like this idea a lot, by the way. Reminds me of the meteor storm, hail and earthquake effects in some Total Annihilation maps.
