    Exclamation Guidlines for beta testing

For those of you that are new to beta testing, heres a few tips that you should keep in mind.

    1. there WILL BE bugs and glitches and other issues with the game, thats the whole reason you are testing it.

    2. No screenshots, no reviews, no nothing until the developers give the OK. If you do the company may have legal grounds to sue you. The exception is a bug report and normally any screenshots will be sent as an email and/or uploaded to the developers severs/beta forum.

    3. Submit bug reports, if you see a problem then tell the developers, we want this game to be the best it can be so make your reports as detailed as possible.

    4. All features may not be implemented, depending on the stage of completion, not all features may be finished/fully translated. Again just take a screenshot and submit a bug report to the developers.

    5. Be critical, the whole reason you are testing this is because they want suggestions and feedback. If you think something is unbalanced then tell them and state your case for them as best that you can.

    6. While playing the beta you need to stay connected to the Internet. That's of course only required during the beta, the final game does not need an Internet connection.

    7. During the game you can press F12 for some cheat options.

    8. During the game you can press F8 for a small issue reporting tool. If you submit an issue there it will automatically attach your current logfile and possibly a screenshot and savegame. Reports are sent to the issue tracker, you can browse all issues found during the beta test thereplease visit beta website for link)

    A word from the devs:
    Welcome everyone from www.keeperklan.com!
You are our first and quite likely our only english speaking beta-testers so you might run into some problems:
+ we might not be so quick to respond to english threads as to the german threads
+ the english localisation of the game is always one or two steps behind the german version - so you will run into lots of missing texts
+ you wont be able to search our issue-tracker whether the bug you encountered was already reported in german
    + ...

But please don't let that stop you from reporting everything you find lacking.

Oh - and I won't let you start testing before explaining one important thing:
DUNGEONS was NOT planned as a DK3. Never. What we wanted to develop was a game in which you can build and manage a dungeons from a very low level (placing single chandeliers, reading pults, debris, ...) and to build a game in which the game-design rewards players to build "nice" dungeons as we know them from action-rpgs/WoW/pen&paper/.... As we all know these dungeons are usually no death traps for the entering player-heroes, but more a challenging and rewarding place for those heroes. So thats what dungeons is all about:
Build and expand your dungeon, entertain heroes, and succeed where you fellow dungeons lords like your buddy Diablo fail: beat those heroes afterwards and tortue the happiness from them in order to build an even larger dungeon ...

But we are allowed to speak about it in here yes, since only people in the beta can see this?

Technically yes. With key we should also have access to official beta forum where we are supposed to post bugs/glitches when whe find them. Or we may post them here and forum representative will repost them there.
