    Default A terrain idea: Mud

Mud: The terrain that might as well ruin your dungeon.
Mud looks very simmilar to solid dirt, except for a minor bubble that occasionally escapes the surface. As a result, an inexpierenced keeper might not recognize it at first glance. Creatures themselves might also walk on it, only to find themselves sinking into the fetid muck.

-Mud slows down the movement of lighter, slower monsters that walk across it, such as imps, mistresses, skeletons and dwarves. Additionally, monsters that walk on it tend to immediately walk off of it (unless specifically told to walk across it, such as an imps task or a call to arms spell).
-Bigger, slower enemies, such as Bile Demons, Knights and oversized boss monsters cannot escape from mud after walking on it, and will start to sink into it at a slow pace (about 12 seconds). During this time, the keeper can pick up the enemy and drop them onto safety, and the monster will know not to walk onto that body of mud again. If the keeper cannot rescue the creature in time, it will kill the monster.
-Medium sized enemies (all others) are slowed down by it, and start to sink. As a result, they can climb out if adjacent to a solid land tile, but are nonetheless at (a severly lowered) risk of death.
-Because mud is not solid ground, it cannot be claimed. Additionally, unlike other liquid terrain such as water or lava, a bridge cannot be built over mud, making it a very dangerous terrain.
-Mud exists without any solid dirt over it, so a keeper who is mining out his dungeon should look for this. Additionally, Mud appears on mostly the overworld, and rarely ever in the deep. A keeper that mines under a tile containing mud can trigger a cave-in.

    Thoughts?

Good, but it is more annoying that it is a good idea - Kyle

Mud will be more like swampy terrain then...

Anither thing you could add is that you can build a bridge over it (just like lava or water) but will the bridge will slowly perish in the swamp... (the rate would be veeeeery slow compared to lava, but it would perish)

or you could have digusting creatures like flies and bile demons are immune to it, but tend to get in it alot.

Mebe you could be able to build a room on it that you cant build on any other terrain (well perhaps lava or water.) this room is like a baths where creatures go and relax. the water one is where the more normal creatures will bathe. one built onto lava would be where demon spawn, dragons or salamanders would relax, and one built on mud would be for bile demons etc to go in.

That... Is maybe one of the better ideas Ive heard of for a long time.
    Well done.

Are Salamanders going to be in the game though? I thought they got nixed.

That's an original idea but I don't think it's quite right for DK. The dungeon is supposed to be a dark, dirty, grimy place where the creatures of the underworld live. It should be completely uncivilised and repulsive to humans (the total opposite to the way the heroes live). For that reason, a bathing room doesn't really fit into the feel of things. Besides, out of all the creatures I think the Warlock would be the only one who'd be even remotely interested in keeping himself clean. Perhaps the vampire too but he'd probably prefer to bathe in blood. Even the mistress should like a bit of dirt and grime around her lair.

You could argue that converted heroes may want to bathe, but the way I see it, by converting to your cause they have forsaken all things human and are happy to live the same way as the rest of your minions.

    No to the room
    Yes to the terrain

Maybe slower creatures just move even slower
    Faster creatures slip
Certain Creatures know how to walk so they're fine.

I didn't know you could sink into mud and not escape from it. Its almost like quick-sand!

Yeah, thats kind of how I imagined mud as being; more like quicksand and less like a mud idea.

And yeah, nix the bathtub idea. Still, it was one of the better ideas Ive heard for a room in the past while.
