    Default KEEPERFX and Speech SDK 5.1????

    I have seen in keeperfx google code page, that the developer eatpajdittsvin is working on voice recognition command system based on MS Speech... So, in a future we will speak to our creatures to tell they doing things??? Or what is that? mefistotelis or eatpajdittsvin, can you explain this feature?

    Well, nobody named "eatpajdittsvin" here, and I'm pretty sure Mefistotelies wouldn't add such thing.

    "eatpajdittsvin" is a username from keeperfx google code, not from keeper klan forum... You can see what I say here: http://code.google.com/p/keeperfx/source/list

    My idea is that you for instance say "Slap", the hand slaps the creature it is hovering over. If you say treasure room, treasure room will be selected, etc.

    I'm eatpajdittsvin btw

    GOOD IDEA! but... this will work with spanish for example? SAPI support only english language?

    Initially only English will work, after that I will see what I can do to support multiple languages. It depends on what languages Microsoft offers freely as well.

    Just only one thing, Microsoft SAPI is platform dependant (Windows)... Why not using a open source speech recognition library? Searching in google (open source speech library) I find:

    http://cmusphinx.sourceforge.net/
    http://voce.sourceforge.net/

    Voce is cross-platform! I don't know anything about this kind of technologies or wich is better...

    Checked out pocketsphinx two days ago, couldn't get it to compile on Windows, with VS2010 nor MingW.
    Voce looked good although as far as I can see it does not offer Command & Control recognizer (which only bothers looking up commands for a given context reducing possible errors), so its accuracy would be less good.

    Either way, using MSSDK doesn't imply that I cannot port to a different API for another platform - I'm specifically designing the code for that to be possible by abstracting out any SDK details.

    OK, good to know. I think you will be busy a long time with TCP/IP code and SAPI code... Give priority to TCP/IP code please! hehe
