Thread: DKFX crash after intro movie. DKGOLD crash at combat.

    Question DKFX crash after intro movie. DKGOLD crash at combat.

    After hours of battle i got DKGOLD running under my win7 64bit but it keeps random crashing at fights. But it is nearly every fight --> unplayable. So forget DKGOLD for now. (ok if solution is known please tell )

    Everything now is DKFX:
    Now i found DKFX but i cant get it running. It crashs everytime after/at the burning cd loading screen that comes after the intro. It gets black for 2 sec and after that its on desktop. I tried all the different compatibility options of windows but it dosent help.

    This is the cfg setting:
    FRONTEND_RES=640x480x8 640x480x8 640x480x8
    INGAME_RES=640x480x8

    If i dont use this RES it will crash just before the intro movie.

    Its strange that there is no error.
    Can someone please help me?

    Can you post a debug version log? Maybe that one will show potential errors.

    Run keepfx_dbg.exe instead of keepfx.exe. The log will be much bigger.

    Now i tried to start DKGOLD with virtual pc xp but at start the screen goes just black and back to desktop.
    There must be a way to play this game or my unholy quest will fail

    Problem solved.

    It was the DEP.

    Bug report DKFX:
    -the scroll bars in the campaign select menu, options menu, levels menu are not working

    About further bugs: Define "not working".

    They are just like pictures with no function. Cant use the arrow buttons at the end of the bar, there is no "lock on" on the slider. Its all the scroll bars not just the ones in the lists but sound and mouse sensitivty too. And i cant find a way to use them with the keyboard.
