I far prefer standard creature variation. This seems a waste in compare.

A waste of what exactly? once properly thought out it won't take long to make I imagine

This tutorial explains how you can switch the material of an object just by firing at it, it would only be easier to do it with a trigger.

tbh, all creatures should have variety (looks only).

yeah but I think there should be some exclusivity, just like the starcraft 2 collector's edition thors have different models and people go "how did you get that?! it's awesome!"

Personally I prefer Creatures to have their standard Creature appearance. Maybe we should make a toggable button to make everybody happy.

Hmm, well you're making a successor, not a remake... so why make things so limited?

Like I said, prefer. This feature isn't really required at all because it has no effect on gameplay. It is personal preference, simple as that. You have your own personal preference of having the variation for Creatures, while I have my own preference of specific looks for each Creature as a species.

I said we make a toggable button which would turn on or off the variation skins in order to make both parties happy instead of it being one-sided. There's no problem with that, is there?

Well I think a button would ruin the fun, it's like you get a button if you want to have a surprise birthday party or not...
And you are of course entitled to your opinion. but it's the vibe I get around here that most ideas get shot down without much concideration because an aspect is flawed. (not pointing fingers or anything)

Not sure how much of a surprise it is if it is very well known.

Well you don't tell the birthday boy you're having a surprise party :P

the birthday boy would be the end-user in this case.
