Exclamation An easy way to show KeeperFX location of my drive with DK1 CD

Ive as of yet been unable to find solution how to make KeeperFX play audio tracks from original Dungeon Keeper 1 (Tried Original and GOLD versions) using a virtual drive (I have a laptop without DVD drive). Could anyone please direct me into an easy solution what config file I should edit or procedures to do in order to get this working. Help is very much appreciated.

Unfortunately, the music code is not changed since original DK.

To play audio from CD, you have to insert your DK CD-ROM (real or virtual) into the FIRST cd drive. And which is first - it's somehow determined by Windows, and isn't easy to tell. I also have no idea how to change the drives order.

You can either disable a CD drive temporarily from the Device Manager or you can also change the drives order. To do so, right-click on "My computer" and select "Manage". Then, select "Disk Management" and right-click on the CD drive you wanna change. Select "Change Drive Letter and Paths" and bring the changes.

You can also use Daemon Tools Lite with a CD image of Dungeon Keeper audio tracks and make the virtual drive to be set as the first drive.

I have MDF image of "DK Gold" CD, one physical dvd drive and one virtual drive (daemon tools lite). The physical drive letter is Z:\, the virtual drive letter is W:\ (changed using my computer \ manage\local disk drives). Music work fine in keeperfx, if I use only MDF image in virtual drive (and no any discs in physical drive).

In original keeper95.exe I use "install path = W:\keeper" in config, and music works too.

In dosbox I use "mount W W:\ -t cdrom", and music work fine too.

INSTALL_PATH in config file doesn't change anything about the CD detection. It just tells the game where to take the game data.
