If you play with the modified campaign it came with yes. However; if you just copy only the .icd file, both exe files and the patch.dll; it's really not much different except better keeper AI.

Is there a way to change the mistress' fighting style back to a blitzer?
Also the game keeps crashing on peachtree whenever I try to fight the lord of the land.
If this is my modified level 14, which I don't remember if I released publicly anywhere or not, then it's a map that was not quite finished and I only released for the sake of giving out more content. Levels 12, 13, and 14 weren't quite finished, lacking in playtesting as it moves on. This is assuming I released them somewhere, if I didn't then it's just vanilla level 14 crashing for some reason.

Gentlemen...
BEHOLD!!
It's the Maiden of the Nest!
Sort of.
I copied some 1.7 resources into the 1.3 game, then I used an Object to load the Maiden's attack animation (similar to the Samurai's Critical Strike ability making a copy of himself to attack in its animation). So you're not actually seeing the Maiden of the Nest as a creature, just an object loading her resources.
Theoretically, it's possible to add the Maiden of the Nest to 1.3 by reskinning an elite unit into a normal unit, and changing its animation resources. Unfortunately, that's one thing the DKII editor can't actually do, change the animation resources of creatures (it can do this for a lot of other things though). However, I do know that changing the animation resources for custom maps is something that the game can do, I believe it already does so in the global data for maps. In the past, I had issue with the "Horny" status, because it breaks animations. Originally, I gave it to one of the Princes to allow for the Horned Reaper to return to being a normal unit, then I gave it to the Firefly, and finally I ended up reskinning the elite Firefly into a normal unit so that it can take up the Horny status, allowing for all 3 Princes, the Horned Reaper, and Firefly to be normal units. Each time, I had to redo almost all the modifications from scratch on a blank map because the animations were permanently broken (no stunned animation for instance, made the creature completely vanish) and it would transfer from map to map with the global data. That's why I believe this information is stored within the global data.
While I assume tweaks to the editor to allow for changing the animation resources aren't likely, it might be possible to change the global data file itself somehow. Once it's done once, it never really has to be done again as it should be copied over with the global data along all other maps. There might even be enough resources to make some other weird unit. I still can't really do anything from here, but I do know that the Maiden dream is no longer an impossible reality, although it is still something beyond my reach in particular.

I hope the Maiden makes it in eventually and into the make campaign itself. Also, why not rework the first like, five tutorial levels into something actually worth playing?
Could you elaborate on this a bit more? What do you mean "something actually worth playing"?
