Thread: Alternatives to fixing the fast scroll problem?

Default Alternatives to fixing the fast scroll problem?

I have read the sticky thread above but cpukiller does not work at all, as soon as it loads I get a constant stream of error messages something along the lines out "out of range -1" "out of range -2" etc which stops you from accessing any of cpukiller as they keep appearing and leaving the main window unselectable. I am tempted by KeeperFX but I am put off by the fact it uses DK AI, which is pretty awful in comparison to DD (it seems every guide for Deeper Dungeons has used KeeperFX to play it in as a lot of what they state as fact is completely untrue, "the AI won't build bridges", "the AI won't take the spell from the contested area" etc when both occur regularly).

Does anyone have another solution to this issue as currently I cannot select half of the Deeper Dungeons maps as it scrolls right past them? Thanks!

Do you know how to use a memory editor? Also, which version of DD are you playing, dos or windows?

Running it through Dosbox, installed from DK Gold CD ROM

This works for me using Dosbox 0.74
    DDMP.zip

I'd like to make an actual fix though.

If I'm not wrong, KeeperFX uses Deeper Dungeons' AI or, in other words, it uses DK AI with DD AI added. But I may be wrong. Only Mefisto knows.

The sticky thread above about Fast Scrolling, claims Keeper FX uses DK AI but i've not used it, so can't confirm. There are noticeable differences between the 2 though, DD AI will sell traps to stay financially afloat if you cut off their gold supply, they also build bridges far more intelligently. DK AI also struggles to run more then one keeper and you invariably find yourself on maps with more then 1 Keeper where only 1 is of any threat to you because the other(s) haven't bothered training troops or ran out of money despite plentiful gold supply.
