Thread: Dungeon Keeper Gold direct3D in a virtual machine?

Question Dungeon Keeper Gold direct3D in a virtual machine?

    Hey people

Im going to test something. I build a virtual machine with vmware to test the direct3d version of DKGold.

I think im going to use Win98 for this.

Beside, what is the difference between normal and direct3d in detail? And does KeeperFX include the direct3d features? Could it?

This has already been asked before

Briefly, textures and sprites are blurred to remove pixelisation, eye lenses don't work at all and the lighting is a bit difference. Also, the creature level's digit is hard to read and some blinkings are different.

It's more "smooth", but most people prefer the original way.

Ah, i see. I remember the smooth-effect. I like it.

I wish KeeperFX would become more powerful including higher limits and optimized graphic Options. Easy activate the smooth-mode or not. And a better support for higher resolutions (higher zoom out on high resolutions like 1280x720 oder 1920x1080). Also the 1st-person-view doesnt work with higher resolutions.

Higher limit would be nice, indeed. Optimized graphics has already been discussed once, but I don't think it's gonna be implemented. DK3D graphics aren't real improvements. As for high resolutions support, well, DK natively works using a low resolution. If we increase the resolution, then it's gonna greatly reduce the size of the main panel on the left and the text box at the bottom, unless applying a scaling. I don't think it's really necessary. Playing in 640x480 is way sufficient imho.
