    Default Ancient Keeper - Salaar's Test improvement

    There's an issue on KeeperFX Resource Tracker that could be fixed by changing level script:

    My idea is to add a LOSE_LEVEL condition with a proper message if the player won't claim the portal fast enough to get a dragon.

    What do you think of it? Who will do it?

    DL, this seem like a perfect occasion for your first commit to KeeperFX repository .

    Oh, first commit you said? If I do a commit, be prepared for something HUGE. And by HUGE, I mean the next version of my unofficial patch, including the changes to Ancient Keeper and Post-AK campaigns. I'm gonna bring the change, but won't commit it yet.

    would really prefer the unofficial patch to be a separate download as some of the changes in the last version really threw of the balance of the maps.
    ie netzcaro - 5 enemy horned reapers becoming 5 neutral horned reapers guarding the prison
    or the dexterity reduction throwing of the balance of certain combats

    Addition/ side-note
    In ancient keeper, a lot of the tricks required to complete levels are likely bugs
    - invulnerable unconscious creatures and boulder traps
    - cloning creatures through resurrect creature special
    - item allocation when claiming non-library/workshop tiles
    - blowing creatures through diagonal walls.

    so speaking as the person who uploaded the campaign is it really worth trying to keep it playable in keeperfx?

    I know there's plenty of mistakes and bad changes in my previous patch, most of them, like Netzcaro thing, have been fixed since and it's really soon to be released. I can't say a date, but it shouldn't be long (or I hope).

    Second, I also know that most of the "features" involved in Ancient Keeper are mostly bug exploitation. The problem is like you said, when it will come the time to "fix" these things, some of the AK levels would become unplayable. Once it will happen, we would either do a "special" configuration for Ancient Keeper only or we would reserve the campaign to be only played with the original Dungeon Keeper Gold game as it was supposed to be. The last resort would be to either alter these levels or totally remove them which I somewhat disagree.

    Even I disagree to make AK unplayable on FX, and since it's possible to make a special configuration per campaign, we can use it to make AK playable on FX. Moreover, some of the bugs (for example blowing creatures in diagonal walls or the guard post bug, I think they deserve to remain, since they can be considered "advanced strategies"...

    There was once a debate about the guard post on the forum right here and most of players preferred to keep it as it is already.
    For the "blowing thru corner" thing, I think it's just a flaw of the game. Since both tips of the opposite free corners are touching, the game accepts the crossing if the speed of the creature is high enough. Perhaps it could be fixed, but I think it would be hard.
    Other stuff you mentioned really need to be fixed.
