    Default Dk universe questions.

    Hello guys

I had these few questions for years about DK but only now from some reason i feel like asking them, there are somethings about DK universe that really bothers me

and idlike to have some answers about them. I dont really expect you guys to answer accuratly anything, since i bet most of these questions wont have a accurate answer..

For short, you can use you imagination, but idlike you to combine as much as loginess as possible..

    here we go :P

Does the keeper dungeon heart represents the keeper himself(is it its true form?) or most of his material body is in a parallel dimension? or maybe he is more of a spirit?

When a keeper picks up a creature,Does the keeper really uses a giant hand to grab his creatures? (I for example allways imagined that he simply teleports them to were he wants,if anyone here saw the anime Bleach, then i imagined that the creatures move like hollows, and are using the keepers univers as a wormhole.

How come the keeper can pick up the enemy creatures at his prison/torture chamber/combat-pit? (does the rooms have special powers who gives the keeper surveillance over their captives? does the imps attach some sort of charm,or magical thingy to them which grants the keeper the power to control them?

does the distruction of the dungeon heart means death for the keeper? or loose of surveillance over the respective land?

does the keeper has a multitude of dungeon hearts? or a 1 dungeon heart which he moves from place to place?

Whats is the portal gem? a item that grants the power too move though dimensions? a strong magical item that gives the keeper the ability to destroy hard rocks? (thus moving thought the "Edge of the map" to the next realm or maybe it grants the keeper the power to transport his dungeon?

Why do converted creatures dont just run away back to there side? are atleast run for their life? (those the torture somehow grants the keeper control over them?)

when you finish the game,to you get to go up to the real human world? (were exactly is horny going?)

why do heros even go to the underworld in the first place? (gold? adventure? orders of their masters? or do they really try to make the underworld their home?)

How to creatures recognize higher leveled creatures? they dont really see their level floating above them right?

Why do creatures play the casino when its on the rip-off mode? seriosly they can look up a little bit and see the leaver and check if the casino is really gonna give them any money?

does the creatures come to a keeper for what? gold? are they in it for the kill?

were do heros sleep,eat.. they dont seem to have any hatcherys or bedrooms..

    I think thats it..

I have no idea why I'm going to even bother reading this thread after learning what it's about, let alone, answering the questions it asks, but I'm going to for some reason.

First off, DK in general has practically no "official" or "true" lore. There are things that are implied (I'm certain it's both intentional and unintentional) but not so much directly stated. DK2 does involve more story and "lore" compared to DK1 but it's so very loosely shown/expressed. I will be answering with my own lore that I created over time.

The Dungeon Keeper is a demon spirit and the Dungeon Heart is its physical manifestation. It's physically vulnerable as a trade off for allowing them to keep most of their spiritual power, aka Keeper Spells. Sometimes the demon spirit is actually a deity and is much stronger, but this is rather rare. Examples of this would be the DK1/DK2 Players and the blue Keeper from Skybird Trill of whom I refer to as Mortuus. Nemesis is too much of a pansy in my opinion to be one.

He does use his hand, yes.

Normally, Creatures are sort of "coated" with the magic of their Keeper owner and this is what allows them to interact with the Creatures. When a Creature is placed in a Prison, etc, they are given some of that Keeper's magic to allow the Keeper to interact with them as well. But it's set up so that the effect only lasts while they're within those rooms.

Death. DK2, however, stated that if you lose your Dungeon Heart, "You'll be banished forever from this land", which can be interpreted as both.

    The latter.

This is actually explained in DK2. Unlike in DK1 where Keepers only had to defeat the "Guardians" of a ream in order to easily reach the surface of said realm, DK2 Heroes apparently have apparently locked the way to the surface to prevent Keepers from invading. They used the Portal Gems to do so, and the Keepers are collecting them in order to gain access to the surface again.

Their loyalty for their previous Keeper breaks (for numerous reasons I suppose) and they decide to join this new Keeper, presumably to make the pain stop and because to them it doesn't truly matter who they work for. They all want to kill the Heroes.

It's the surface, as answered with the Portal Gem question.

I would imagine that it'd be for two reasons. A) To mine Gold and B) To defeat the Dungeon Keeper who is a threat to them.

In DK1, it would be size. Though perhaps (In DK2) Creatures who are more experienced in battle express it in some way, depending on the Creature, and enemy Creatures recognize it and are intimidated by it.

They probably can't or they don't know the difference. It's a Money sign, so they might just think they'll get money.

The ancient history involves Creatures ruling all of the overworld, and not humans. They took the humans in as slaves, until The Avatar appeared as the humans' savior and sealed the Creatures beneath the Portals. He used his own magic and the Creatures cannot escape normally. Keepers are the ones who can free them and are strong enough to bypass The Avatar's magic, as they spread their magical influence as they claim land with Imps. When their influence falls over the Portal, it allows Creatures to begin coming up into their dungeon. Creatures will work for multiple reasons. Some just want a life outside of the Portal depths as it's probably hellish down there, while others seek revenge against the Heroes.

They usually have a Hero Gate to travel into the Overworld, and they probably go back up there for rest. Or they do have a Bed to go to but it's simply not shown as mapmakers never bothered with that sort of detail.

Wow,i never accepted an answer from you,you allways looked too serious for those kind of posts.. I have to admit you gave preaty legit answers,ty for bothering to fill up my imagination`s needs

I am sorry to bother you,but there is one thing open,if he says "banishing forever from this land" then I supose you would not die,yet simply loose survailance over the land...

And too remind you that in DK1 you can still hover around the dungeon as a spirit. I might sugest that the dungeon heart represents its magical powers, and mana, and the loose of it turns a keeper into a simple spirit to haunt the dungeon. then again that is preaty much the explenation of death, loose of phisical form...

Yeah i got it now,TY for you time

Others are welcomed to share their thoughts...

EDIT: I just renembered something now,one time long ago when I wanted to witness the fate of a keeper who looses its dungeon heart,at the levels menu (were the mentor explains about the land) he says he "hopes the reaper will take good care of me"... does that makes Horny Satan,or the grim reaper? Lol i think its too much you really dont have to answer it,ty for you time!

That's because we've mainly met under different circumstances, though I was significantly different during most of our previous encounters. And I still responded rather seriously even so. At least I felt myself to hold a more serious tone.

It can still be interpreted as dying. "Banish" can be used with the meaning of death, especially with the way he says "forever from this land". "this land" could refer to "The Land of Harmonia" or the world entirely. When you look at it that way, it does sound like the Mentor is saying you'll die. Looking at it in context helps because he's describing your Dungeon Heart as your life force.

That could be simply there for gameplay, or it could be looked as the spirit of the Dungeon Keeper wandering about. Thing is, he has no power or anything now, which could mean that his power was within his physical body after manifesting within it. This means that once slain, the demon spirit can no longer turn back into a Dungeon Keeper and he ends up being defeated/killed in a sense.
