The in-game string messages for KeeperFX are now stored in .PO files.
The DAT files with strings for the game are generated out of .POs.
Summary:
Anyone may now translate or improve existing translation of KeeperFX.
Details:
The .PO is a common translation format; translators usually use poEdit to open them, but it's a text-based format.

The .PO files in KeeperFX:

Original, english messages are written in .POT file. This file can be edited simply in text editor if the messages are to be changed.
if .POT file changes, it is easy to update all .PO files and mark translations which are no longer valid and should be fixed.
Also, .POT file may be used to create completely new translations (I will add them to KeeperFX is such translations are made).
The .PO/.POT files have UTF-8 charset, so editing them is quite easy, even the chinese translations.
How to make TEXT.DAT out of .PO/.POT:
I'm working on a tool to do that; it doesn't yet support asian languages, but seem to work fine with european files. The DAT files will soon be automatically created when the code from SVN is compiled.
