Chandra looks mostly like an ordinary Maiden, but holds a magical staff with which she cast her spells. It looks rather like this. She also wears a kind of "half-robe" that covers her human half; it's pretty much a makeshift adaptation of normal Warlock's robes, modified for obvious reasons. It is dull brown/gray in colour, and has a hood that easily conceals her face.

    Current Realm: Northland Iceland

    Biography:
Chandra and her older sister, Pamela, are both apart of a remote academy to the north strictly for Maidens of the Nest that are both interested in and capable of the magical arts. There are a variety of specialized courses designed to maximize a certain form of magic, such as healing, to create superior magic users, or Mage Maidens. Each course focuses on taking advantage of a Maiden's natural abilities to ensure that Mage Maidens remain the best. Chandra herself is considered a Banishing Priestess, which is a sub-class of the Untouchable Healer main class, while Pamela is of the Archmage class.

The academy itself has quite the history, existing previously as a mere tribe exclusive to Maidens of the Nest, eventually advancing into what it is now. As it existed in the overworld, the Heroes naturally felt threatened by its presence, specifically when it evolved into an academy. Time and again did they try and bring down the academy, but due to its easily defended location and the specialized talent of the Mage Maidens, their efforts were wasted with few casualties on the Maiden side. While it was believed that the Heroes could best the academy, they estimated that their losses would be far too great for it to be worth it. As the academy sought no expansion, the Heroes decided to leave it be.

However, while each generation of Heroes realized the futility of their assault on the academy, it didn't stop the next generation from trying to bring it down. The continued persistence of the Heroes slowly took its toll on the academy. The increasing severity of the Hero attacks brought about worry that the academy may eventually fall.

The Maiden hierarchy decided to ally themselves with the Heroes' most common enemy, the Dungeon Keepers, to push back the Heroes and send them a message of warning. To go about this alliance, the academy secretly sent out its Mage Maidens to aid Keepers of the northern realms, close to the academy's location. Northland Iceland was one of these realms, and one the academy specifically desired as a result of the numerous rumors of suspicious Hero activity. Chandra and Pamela eagerly volunteered for this mission. During the most recent Hero attack on the academy, one of the casualties was the death of their mother. To the sisters, this was the perfect opportunity for revenge.

    Current Realm: Northland Iceland

    Biography:
Terrence is a relatively ordinary Tentacle who was expelled from the Tentacle Tribe in Northland for his views on Keepers. He tried to encourage co-operation with Keepers within the tribe, instead of despising/destroying them, as they would allow them to fight the Heroes more successfully, but due to the Tribe having had bad previous experiences with Keepers that sought to abuse their co-operation, Terrence’s ideals were quickly barked down, which eventually led to his exile. He now returns to Northland, and is willing to help the attacking Keeper in any way possible… even if that means killing his own kin.

He is a little bit larger than a normal beetle, and his carapace appears to made out of a hard rocky material, with shiny bits of crystal protruding out of it.

    Current Realm: Faircoast Caverns

    Biography:
Geode is certainly not an ordinary Beetle, and has a magic-induced strange genetic disorder that caused his rocky outlook. Noted for being a tough nut to crack, he has bested many foes purely due to the fact that his shell allowed him to last much longer than they, dealing fair damage in return for very little. Although he has learned to live with the heavy carapace, he positively dislikes anything and anyone that can outmanoeuvre him in battle… which is almost everyone. Still, he remains fiercely loyal to his allies, and would gladly throw himself in front of an enemy’s attacks in order to save an ally.

Similar in size to a normal Demon Spawn, just his skin is of a gold-orange hue.

    Current Realm: Faircoast Caverns

    Biography:
The Demon Spawn known only as Dread has earned himself quite a reputation for being quite destructive for his size, yet when in a sustained fight, he would not be able to last long. Purely offensive in his behaviour, he is easily enraged in a fight, one of his prominent weaknesses, as it can lead him to disregard orders and potentially abandon a battle formation. He is uncaring towards others, which has lead him to become quite solitary in the past, although recently he realized that all the best fights are between Keepers and Heroes, so he has grown a vague sort of acceptance of other creatures, although he rarely shows it. Whilst he is able to take a trap apart in under a few seconds, he is also quite talented at putting them together, making him useful in the Workshop as well as on the battlefield.

Chapter 1 - Discovery in the Mines

“Come on, get to work! You’re not getting paid to sit around,” Tetryos shouted to the Dwarves, who quickly jumped up and continued mining the precious Gold that was so abundant in this realm. The Guard shook his head.
“They’ll never understand the concept of hard work,” he muttered to himself. He quickly marched on. He had to get back to the outpost before his shift began, or else it would be left unguarded, allowing any number of dangerous Underworld critters getting through and raiding the mine.
He passed several wooden Barricades, and walked into the outpost. Gerry the Knight was still on duty, constantly checking for enemies.
“Hey, Gers, how’s it goin’?” Tetryos asked as he walked into the Guard Room. The Knight turned to him briefly, quickly saying,
“Alright. No trouble today,” before continuing with his duties.
“Good, good. Well, looks like I should be having a relatively quiet shift then.” He headed to the small armoury behind the Guard Room, and picked his lance off of the trestle. When he returned, he found that Gerry had already gone, leaving a small note on the table in the middle of the room. It read, “Spotted some movement in the tunnels. Gone to investigate.”
Tetryos shrugged, and began his shift. He walked out of the Guard Room, inspecting the automated defensive traps. Five huge Sentry traps stood guard in the passage that led deeper into the mines, behind five Barricades. Tetryos wondered why such extensive defences were necessary, as there was just the odd giant Beetle that thought it could take them on. All, so far, had failed miserably.
Suddenly, a scream echoed from within the mine, followed by a deafening silence. Tetryos was frozen in shock, realizing that the scream was Gerry’s.
“Ah, crap.” Tetryos realized it was his duty to investigate.
The Guard gripped his lance tightly as he cautiously walked down into the deeper section of the shaft. He suddenly spotted a small dim glow in the distance, which was red of colour. Continuing to move slowly towards the light, Tetryos came across the bodies of several Underworld dwellers, consisting of Goblins, giant Spiders and Beetles. A large sword was stuck in the Beetle corpse.
Tetryos recognized it. It belonged to Gerry, but his body was nowhere to be found. He must still be alive, giving the nervous Guard a small shred of hope for his friend.

Silence surrounded Tetryos, creating a feeling of intense anxiousness in his mind. The dripping sound had seemingly ceased too, as if the very rock was watching his every move. He eventually came into a large clearing of some kind, and the light was gone.
“Gerry! Where are you?” The Guard shouted, resulting only in his echo answering him. The pitter-patter of creatures could be heard, stalking him in the shadows.
Suddenly, Tetryos spotted the light again, emanating from one of the tunnels that lead away from the clearing. With it came a rhythmic sound, bouncing around the empty caverns. The hidden creatures appeared to get closer to Tetryos, stalking and inducing fear into the Guard.

Suddenly, a giant Beetle leapt out of the shadow, attempting to impale the Hero with his mandibles. Tetryos blocked the attack with his lance, sending the insect flying past him. More insectoids and Goblins now came out of the darkness, attacking the Guard from all sides.
As Tetryos blocked the attack of another Beetle, he reversed his lance, and stabbed a Goblin in the torso, before retracting it and slashing it across several more enemies. The Beetle’s mandibles were not nearly powerful enough to bite through Tetryos’ armour, but the Goblin swords severely dented it with each hit.
As more creatures attacked, he vaulted over a Beetle with his lance, before slashing more critters left and right. The deep rhythmic sound continued to approach.
Several Goblins parried Tetryos’ lance, and sent it flying onto the ground. They moved in closer, ready to finish the job. But the Guard was much larger than they, and barged through the enemy line, grabbing his lance off the ground, running as fast as he could back towards the outpost.
The Goblins gave chase, not realizing their error until too late. When they approached the outpost behind Tetryos, the mighty automated cannons opened fire on them. Some Goblins tried to run, others tried to continue on. None survived the barrage of cannon fire. Tetryos breathed a sigh of relief when he returned to the Guard Room.
“I must report this to the commander.”

The sounds from the deep came closer, and the Sentry cannons discharged once more. Hordes of creatures now approached the outpost perimeter, breaking through the Barricades with ease. Terrified, Tetryos ran. He did not look back, nor did he listen to the rhythmic echoes of the approaching hordes. He ran past the Dwarves he met before, screaming at them to get out of the mine. Confused, the Dwarves looked down the shaft, seeing the horde demolishing the Sentries, and continuing further towards the surface. They shouted back at the Guard,
“Go, we will distract them here!” And with that the honourable Dwarves grabbed their axes, charging at the enemy.
Tetryos shook his head, but continued running. He tried not to listen to the slaughter that happened behind him.

When the Guard broke into daylight, a terrible sight confronted him. Most of the realm was a battleground, with Heroes and Underworld creatures battling everywhere. He spotted Lord Terrence and his bodyguards fighting their way back to the Hero Gate, which happened to be the only way to safely leave the realm. Tetryos ran as fast as he could towards the Hero remnants whilst chopping down some Goblins that were in the way, shouting for them to wait, but he was too late. In a flash, the Heroes entered the Gate and disappeared, before the stone structure was destroyed by the Mana-borne Imps.

“Oh no…” Terror rang out through Tetryos’ wavering voice.
He looked around him, seeing the castle nearby burn and the town was laid to waste. Then, a terrifying mercenary, a so-called Black Knight, spotted the Guard and prepared to engage. Tetryos grasped his weapon tightly, backing away slowly. There was no way that he would survive this.
Suddenly, a chill ran through his back, followed by a surge of pain. Dropping his lance, the Guard looked down at himself, seeing the end of a sword sticking out of his chest. It retracted, and Tetryos fell to the ground. He looked up at his killer, only to find that it was his friend Gerry. The Knight knelt beside him.
“I’m so sorry, my friend. Please forgive me; he gave me no choice.”
Tetryos lay helpless as he watched Gerry stand up and walk away. Then, his vision blurred and everything went dark.

Chapter 2 – Darkness, Skeletons and Keepers

The darkened room was mostly still, but for the patter of rats and the dripping of water from the ceiling. In the middle of the square chamber, there was an iron fence that encircled a bunch of bodies within, with a large metal door in one side of it. This was a typical dungeon Prison, which was magically infused to make its occupants die a little faster than they normally would.
Suddenly, one of the bodies moved, coughing and spluttering. He groaned in pain before he climbed to his feet. Tetryos looked around the dark room, shaking his head. He felt a pain in his chest as he moved. When he looked down, he saw the place the sword had penetrated his body, but it was slightly healed up. The only explanation could be that it was through magic that he was healed, which meant that something or someone was keeping him alive for something. Tetryos slumped down against the iron Prison bars, coughing some more.
    “Ugh…”
At the opposite end of the room he could just make out a large steel construct of sorts, a door perhaps. The Guard guessed that even if he were to escape from the Prison somehow, he wouldn’t get very far with that door in the way.
All of a sudden, the door slid open, and a small creature encircled by a reddish glow ran in, holding another body. It opened the door and dragged it inside, before locking it and promptly running off. This body, however, was not of any Hero. It was a Goblin, which had severe wounds. Tetryos crawled a little closer to it.
“Hmm… there must be a battle somewhere… perhaps something else might come to free us…?” He shook his head. It all seemed a little far-fetched.

As he sat, coughing and watching the Imps run back and forth with more Hero bodies, suddenly one of the Heroes started to move. Tetryos looked up hopefully at the Knight, which was now stood up and clutching its sword.
“Thank the Avatar, you’re alright… we need to find a way out of here…”
The Knight said nothing, turning its head slowly to face the injured Guard. It then took off its helmet and armour, revealing something entirely different than a Knight.
    “Oh my god…”
Stood before Tetryos was a Skeleton, its bones magically stripped of almost all flesh. It took a step forward, the exposed bones rattling a little as it moved. Then, ignoring the Guard, it walked towards the Prison door, which opened to release the Skeleton. Tetryos watched as the abomination walked around the Prison and out of the room through the Steel Door.
Tetryos realized that this was going to happen to all who were trapped within the Prison, but he had no hope of escaping.

Suddenly, a loud clanging noise rang out throughout the room. Tetryos looked at the Steel Door as the sound emanated from beyond; as well as the clanging, there were sounds of battle too, featuring shouts and explosions, as well as the odd crack of thunder.
The Steel Door suddenly buckled and collapsed, hitting the ground with a deafening thud. Tetryos looked through the now-open hallway, spotting the attacking force: Goblins, Knights, Dark Angels, Demon Spawns and Salamanders, along with various humans and a couple of other creatures. One of the Salamanders, the largest one Tetryos had ever seen, waddled to the Prison door, melting the door with his super-heated fire breath. When it gave way, the others in the attacking force walked in, picking up their captured Goblin comrade. The large lizard looked around the rest of the Prison, spotting the still-moving Guard.
“Look at this, one of the Heroes is still alive. Should we take him with us?” The Salamander turned to what appeared to be the leader of the group. Tetryos couldn’t see them very well, but he could just make out the robes it wore, so he assumed it was a Warlock.
“No, he’ll just slow us down. Now come on, we need to get moving before they block our path and reinforce their position.” The voice sounded female. The Salamander nodded.
“Yes Ma’am,” he said as he looked back at the Guard, before following the group.

Tetryos waited until the group was out of sight before climbing to his feet and stumbling out of the Prison. The moment he was outside of the cell, the Guard felt as if he could breathe normally again, the tight feeling inside loosening up, as the magic had no further effect upon him.
“Ah, much better… now, to get out of here,” he said to himself before he slowly made his way out of the room. He passed the bodies of various creatures, including Heroes. Tetryos grabbed the lance from one of the dead Guards, and he crept on, passing more carnage and the wreckages of traps. He looked down at the ground, noticing that the floor tiles had small red gems in them, the same colour of the Imp’s glow and of the path that destroyed the Hero Gate before.

Suddenly, an explosion echoed throughout the dungeon, followed by an unearthly scream. A wave of magical energy washed over the dungeon, turning every stone wall and path tile to dust. Tetryos looked around at the now-barren cavernous dungeon, walking on quickly. When he walked into what seemed like the inner dungeon, the attacking group Tetryos saw before emerged from within. The Guard held up his lance shakily at the creatures.
    “I… I don’t want to fight you…”
The Salamander he saw before stepped forward again.
“You, what’s you’re name and why were you interned in this Keeper’s Prison?”
    Tetryos looked around in confusion.
“Keeper? I have no idea what… nevermind, I was captured when this realm was invaded by evil forces…”
The giant lizard took another step towards the nervous Guard.
“We came here to destroy this Keeper and free our comrade, but you can prove a… complication,” he turns to the leader. “Perhaps we should take him back to the dungeon. Maybe he’d be willing to join us.”
The Warlock seemed to ponder about it, and nodded.
“Alright, you can come with us. I must ask that you hand over your weapon though.”
The Black Knight in the group walked to the Guard and grabbed the lance, which Tetryos released, somewhat reluctantly.
“Let’s go,” the giant Salamander walked beside the Guard as they traversed the now-empty dungeon. “I’m Ecthelion, by the way. Lord Ecthelion.”
“My name’s Tetryos… If you’re a Lord, does that mean you own a realm?”
    The Salamander shook his head.
“Nah, I own a small portion of my Queen’s realm, a far-away land called Summermarsh Swelter. I actually serve in the Elite Guard, given the duty of protecting the Queen herself and all of her subjects… although recently I have been sent further and further from the realm. Hmm.” A frown passed over the Salamander’s face.
Tetryos acknowledged everything Ecthelion told him.
“I used to guard a mineshaft. Not a thrilling job, sure, but it allowed our Dwarves to mine as much Gold as possible, and in peace,” he looked down. “Now all of them are dead…”
    Ecthelion looked at the Guard.
“I’m sure you… did your best to protect them.”
    Tetryos shook his head.
“No, I didn’t. I ran as they were slaughtered behind me, and I didn’t even look back,” he said with sadness woven throughout his voice. “And I wasn’t even fast enough to warn Lord Terrence about the attack.”
Ecthelion nodded slowly, having nothing to say to that.
When the group reached their dungeon, they led the Guard past the trap emplacements and to the inner dungeon. The group dispersed to recover and eat, whilst Ecthelion and the Warlock continued on, stopping the Guard outside the centre of the dungeon, the Dungeon Heart Chamber.
“Wait here,” Ecthelion said to the Guard, and both him and the Warlock entered the room, the door closing behind them. Tetryos sat down against the wall holding his head in his hands.

When the pair came out of the room, Tetryos looked up hopefully at them, although the Warlock shook her head and walked away.
“What… what’s going on?” Tetryos clambered to his feet. Ecthelion sighed.
“I’m afraid you can’t stay here. If what you say is true, and you used to serve Lord Terrence, then we cannot endanger our dungeon with you being here. The Lord is already mobilising a force to recapture this realm, and we will not be caught in the midd-”
A strange voice suddenly boomed around the dungeon, making everything resonate slightly as the Keeper spoke.
“The Hero invasion has begun, but I still need time to prepare myself for transfer. Every battle-able creature must report to the Guard room immediately!”
The Keeper’s creatures came running out of a nearby room, which appeared to be a Lair of sorts. Ecthelion turned to Tetryos and handed him his lance.
“Come on, I’m sure we’ll need everyone we can muster.”
Tetryos looked down at the lance nervously.
“B-but I can’t kill Heroes! They’ll think I’m a traitor,” he said in an unsteady voice.
“Don’t worry, there will be none left alive to tell anyone about it,” Ecthelion reassured him. “But we must move, come on!”
The Salamander and the Guard ran off to the Guard Room, beyond which lay an extensive trap emplacement. The Sentry Traps had already begun firing upon the scouting party the Heroes had sent out.
The Keeper’s creatures placed themselves around the trap room, killing the scout party survivors, and awaiting the main army to arrive. An Imp came past with a small box, assembling a large Steel Door in the entrance to the trap room, which was promptly locked by the Keeper.

In the Heart Chamber meanwhile, the Heart glowed brightly as it filled with Mana. With every beat the Heart pulsed, pumping out Mana into the surrounding chamber; there was nearly enough for the Transfer spell and the Hold Audience spell together. The Keeper focused all of his magical ability into the Heart, concentrating the energy held within.

Back at the trap room, the heavy hammering of Hero weapons beat down the Steel Door, and the Heroes flooded in, the frontline units being eradicated quickly from the initial flurry of arrows and Sentry Cannon fire. The Black Knights and Bile Demons took up position in front of the heavy Iron Barricades, bracing for the tougher Hero opponents to converge on them. Several dreaded Stone Knights and Light Wardens led the assault, quickly exchanging blows with the tough Keeper creatures. Behind them were a mixture of Wizards, Archers, and Fairies, each dishing out massive damage from afar. Suddenly, one of the Fairies shot a devastating Chainfire spell at the Keeper army, blasting past the front line and knocking out part of the support, as well as a protective Barricade.
Tetryos and Ecthelion were behind the frontline Black Knights and Bile Demons, the latter firing Fireballs and Meteors at the invaders. Tetryos meanwhile used his inner magical ability to Heal the creatures in front of him, as well as help them with the Invulnerable and Protect spells, which mitigated enemy damage.

In the Heart Chamber, the Mana was whipped up into a huge magical storm that encircled the Heart. The Keeper concentrated deeply upon the free magical energy, which lit up the darkened dungeon chambers surrounding the Heart.
    “Nearly there now…”

The fight was turning out to be a loss, as more and more Heroes poured into the dungeon. The traps were soon all but destroyed, and the remaining creatures retreated back into the Guard Room, where the Steel Door covered their retreat. Ecthelion looked over at Tetryos.
“You did well in there, but I’m afraid we aren’t going to win this… I hope the Keeper is ready with his spe-”

The Keeper suddenly cast Hold Audience, and all of his minions were teleported to his Heart. The storm around his Heart intensified.
“Hold on everyone, this is going to be a little rough…”
The Heart beat in quick succession three times, and on the third time, a beam of magical energy shot out of the Heart, igniting the free Mana and engulfing the Heart and the army. The magical explosion filled the dungeon, turning all paths and walls to dust, destroying all of the rooms with it.

The shockwave knocked over the entire Hero invasion army, including Tetryos, who was still in the Guard Room. When the dust settled and he clambered to his feet, Tetryos looked at where the Steel Door had been, looking directly at the Heroes as they got up. They held up their weapons at the Guard, who dropped his lance and held his hands up, being led away by several other Guards. The Knights and Wardens leading the invasion made their way deeper into the empty dungeon, reaching what used to be the Heart Room. All that was left was a large hole in the ground. One of the Knights, presumably the leader, stepped towards the hole, looking in.
“Damn it. Inform the Lord that he escaped.”
One of the Dwarves that were with them nodded, running off.
“Now, I want this dungeon secured. You Dwarves, claim the terrain and reinforce the walls. This will make a good outpost.”
The Heroes all acknowledged the orders and went about their tasks quickly. The Knight frowns as he looks at the hole again.
“You won’t be so lucky next time, scum,” he said with hatred, before walking back to the rest of the Hero army.
