I love the new AI here, but for some reason this patch breaks Maidens for me. They no longer spawn from portals.
Running gog version 1.7 with 0.36B installed.

I'm not sure how I feel about the balance changes, Wyrmcast. especially the mistress.
EDIT
The elves and dark elves are still imbalanced since your last balance change. Attack speed will not affect DM attack as her attack now is rendered useless as she is support now. Same for fairies. Reducing trap mana cost to 0 is very questionable to say the least.
I would suggest getting in touch with MGR and discuss your changes with him. His balance knowledge is one of the deepest on the forum, and he knows what he is talking about.

what disassembler? "take a look" sounds a bit funny because there are about 1,000,000 lines of code Dont expect me finish stepping throug this in notepad++ before year 2100

I want to step through and be able to see whats going on. It is very hard to just stare at hundreds of thousands of operations on addresses I will install that compiler and take a look.
Regarding rewriting the game - it will be easier to just build it ground up anew
I mostly agree on the priority except 64 bit one, nobody will really benefit from it being 64 or 86 architecture. I mean, it will make no difference.
Also, consider trying what some people said regarding GOG/your patch - it may prove more worthy to migrate to more stable GOG version than trying to fix this one. If the migration is successful - 1, 2, 3 and some 4 may be fixed already, and we are just sitting here, reinventing the wheel
If you want to do a lot of patching, you may try to re-compile the disassembled source.
It requires much less work do improve the assembly to be able to re-compile it, than it would to rewrite the whole game.
It's a windows game, and you will want to re-compile it for windows too - so this shouldn't be that hard.
how do you treat arbitrary address calls? Do you replace them with variables? Also, there are like 20 different .asm versions, which one do you stick with? is MASM okay? I am new to asm myself, I am a C++ programmer. While this disassembled chunk looks mostly "complete" at first glance, how do you make it compile?

Well to dissassemble the game you could use IDAPRO, and just export the project as an assembly file. After that, change what needs to be changed will be easier.
i tried it. the AI is good but the version is also back to 1.5. It should work in solo games but not in multiplayer
