    Arrow Windows 8.1 mouse fix

If you are using windows 8 or 8.1 and you are having an uncontrollable mouse problem then follow these instructions.

    1. Search your computer for Regedit

    2. Click HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE

    3. Click SOFTWARE

    4. Click Microsoft

    5. Click Windows NT

    6. Click CurrentVersion

    7. Click AppCompatFlags

    8. Click Layers

On this window you might see other games you have downloaded on here such as dungeon keeper 1 or 2 from Gog.

From here right click a blank area underneath the other games in the registry and click NEW and add a new STRING

Type the exact location of your keeperFX folder and launcher.exe (remember to add .exe at the end of launcher or it wont work.)

Here is an example if your keeperfx folder is on your desktop.
If you copy and paste this make sure your keeperfx folder is named keeper fx exactly.

    C:\Users\myname\Desktop\keeper fx\launcher.exe

After that is done, right click your entry and click MODIFY

Then on the VALUE DATA box type this

    NoDTToDITMouseBatch

If it does not work right away try restarting your computer.
If you have done everything correctly you are done!

    Now get to Keeping, Keeper!

    Sorry for the late reply.

Its weird that it isn't on there. Do you have any games installed at all on your computer? Older games I mean.

Thanks... I had only Dungeon Keeper 1 and Deeper Dungeons from GoG. But anyway, I''ve downgraded to Windows 7.

Sorry for OT, but can old savegamed be imported to keeperfx?

If you are missing the "layers" reg-key you must create it. On the other hand Microsoft has a tool to apply the Windows 8.1 mouse fix automatically - find it here: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2908279
