DK1's Portal System is much simpler than DK2's. If you have the appropriate room requirements, the Creature is available, and there are still Creatures of that same species in the Creature Pool, you have an equal chance of getting that Creature. There is no way to increase or decrease the chance of obtaining a Creature, you can only sell the required room so that you no longer meet the proper requirements of obtaining that Creature.

OK, but i am not able to have for example temple at the start of the level. So i need library and that attract tons of warlock. And after they finish research what can i do with them?
I can throw them to prison = skeletons
Can i throw them to temple and gain new creature from portal?
If I recall correctly, with the vanilla stats, Warlocks are not considered humanoid.
Naturally, when you get rid of some Creatures, you'll gain replacements from the Portal. Dead Creatures will return to the Creature Pool, however. So, if the Creature Pool has 20 Warlocks, and you attract 20 Warlocks, then you kill those 20 Warlocks, you can still get them all back again.

Also, please note some rooms the portal system is broken and doesn't attract certain creatures.
I.E, some levels dragons are allowed; but not Warlocks.

Note each level has a max creature count, and you will gain creatures from the portal until you hit the max. If you are below the max number you can return creatures to the portal all you want and get other ones. This way you can get the composition you like.
However, keep in mind there are other sources of gaining creatures: Torture, Prison, Graveyard, Neutral creatures. These also count against your max, so if you have these, throwing creatures away could be a waste:
Example A:
Portal max - 20
- Claim 20 creatures
- Fire 3 Warlocks (17)
- Gain 3 new creatures (20)
- Claim 2 neutral creatures -> 22 Creatures
Example B:
Portal max - 20
- Claim 20 creatures
- Claim 2 neutral creatures(22)
- Fire 3 Warlocks (19)
- Gain 1 new creature -> 20 Creatures
Wrong. They are humanoid. You can get skeletons from them.Originally Posted by MGR
And Joe, sacrificing won't give you new creatures from the temple. In my unofficial patch, I made sort that when you sacrifice two . all creatures you have will get for a limited time. Other than that, you don't need a temple. If you want to get rid of your warlocks, you can throw them back in the portal to sack them. Pick your creatures you don't want and right-click them on the portal and those creatures will leave.
I like dragons! They're the center of my life! I'll never forget them...
Thanks. I didn't know about throwing creatures back to portal.
Finally i can kick out
