Strange DK2 menu issue

Hi there.
When I boot up the game it runs, but there is no text on the main menu, like there is the map in the background but no text in the foreground and I can't click anything.

My specs are:
GeForce GTX 750
Intel Core I5-4460
8.00GB RAM
Windows 7 home premium


I have already tried a few fixes given on this site but nothing seems to work.
Would really appreciate some help.

Also, it is worth noting I have both versions of the game, the 2 disc and the 1 disc vista compatible version
