    Default Hero dungeon decorations

Dungeon Keeper has a nice creepy atmosphere. The rooms themselves are simple, but the walls are decorated with creepy symbols.
In empty dungeons you can come across one of three possible demonic statues:

Most maps however contain sanctuaries, or hero dungeons if you will, where evil should not have spread to yet. There is very little for mapmakers to fill those with.
You can either leave them empty, fill them with the evil looking statues, or place useless keeper rooms which give the rooms the evil wall decorations.

What we need is some good-themed decorations in the game. This is very easy to do, as there are some placeholder statues already in the game and adikted editor:

When you download the KeeperFX GFX files you can edit these statues to look like something else, and import them into your game.
For example make a holy statue or an armour stand:

As almost everybody here makes maps, what kind of decorations would you like to see added? Do you already have a suitable image for this or can you draw?(I can't)

This would need to become part of an official KFX release for people to actually see it though, correct?

It does not need to be official.

But yes, either it has to be included in a future KeeperFX release, or it can be downloaded as a separate patch. The new images will become part of the creature.jty/.tab files (12MB) so when you replace these files in your KeeperFX/Dungeon Keeper/Editor folder you can see the new sprites.

What's the likelihood of new creatures entirely?

A creature requires lot more than a single image. As of now I haven't seen any complete set of images for new creature.

It is possible to replace one of the creatures with own design, it is not yet possible to add the new one at end of existing set.

I already knew it wasn't realistically feasible, yet it's still disappointing to hear.

I know not all of you clearly remember the dungeon keeper releases, but it truly was a dark time for graphics. DK1 still uses sprites, so a picture has to be drawn for (every angle you want to see the creature at) x (every possible frame of movement the creature can have). It is easier to make fire by rubbing two sticks together.
DK2 came from a time where Columbus discovered 3D models, but Moore had not yet made computers powerful enough to actually display more than 1 proper 3D model. So instead Molyneux decided to just make the horrible looking triangle figures that became DK2.

A casual observer may notice in dungeon keeper they where lazy as fuck when it came to statues(among other things), and decided that they don't need to be seen from the side or rear. So if you rotate the camera, the statues will rotate with it.
And knowing how to prioritize, they decided that they really wanted a possession spell in the game (which they should have saved for DK2) so they had have another whole set of sprites to look at in first person mode, doubling the work.

In short, for statues you also need 2 pictures, one top down view, one first person view.
