if i knew why then i could fix it, when i run the update it unpacks successfully but then the display closes out but the launcher is still running. ive tried compatibility fixes but doesnt work.

You could try opening the patch with 7zip/winrar directly, so you can extract the files by hand and update manually.

I don't know if this works because I don't own 1.3 CD; but you can try the 1.3 to 1.5 patch to play the campaign as well. That way you can still have the best AI.

Solved the problem, all i had to do was disable windows smartscreen and it allowed the update to work. now DK2 just crashes when i try to load it. i did the basic value change in the registry to try n fix it but didnt work. windows 10 just hates dk2

Well I guess the only option left is to download a version of 1.7 from The Iso Zone (there's two game downloads of the same version)

I know that piracy is wrong, but it seems this is a last ditch effort to have Crafty play my campaign.

Not unless you get the GOG version of 1.7 from Iso Zone (hint: It's called Dungeon Keeper 2; not Dungeon Keeper II)

Downloaded and installed successfully, but crashes 90% of the time upon loading and when i start a game its too laggy to play, ive had this happen before on windows 8, but i dont remb how i fixed it. Gonna try a few things.
