What i still dont quite get its who is this shadowy mysterious character? the mentor? some random creature that its there for plot purposes?

Nah, much seriously, Tod said that it's the physical representation of the Keeper. For much easiness, he had to forgot about the "god-like" aspect and instead, made a "boss". Also, the dialogues with an immaterial and omnipresent could be confusing.

Rogue says "...must find the Keeper..." and that guy responds "You have him in front of you.". How more obvious do you want it to be to realize that the hooded figure IS the Keeper?

You don't get it... i know its the keeper... but my question was who is the body? a possessed creature? or the keeper in some sort of physical representation (other than possessed)... thats not obvious at all, is it?
