    Default Mirror Trap

Enables creatures to fire ranged attacks at targets around corners. Works both ways and rival creatures can utilize it as well.
Reflected shots are always about 25% less powerful and are somewhat less accurate. In additon, with each reflection spells lose 10% of overall health (if multiple reflections are possible.) They have, however, a potentially much longer range. A reflected shot that has hit the trap can go at least as far as the distance between the shooter and the trap. This means that if a creature fires at the trap from his maximum firing distance he can effectively double his range.

Mirror traps don't work against Vampires, Skeletons and other undead creatures as they don't appear in them. Creatures don't run from those reflected in mirror traps.

Creatures who see the trap can see everything the trap sees. The trap can see everything in four directions until it hits a wall, though there would be a cut-off point of so many squares.

Mirror traps can only deflect shots at rough right-angles.

Since ranged fire from both teams merely reflects of mirror traps, to destroy one takes melee attack > every creature has one!

    After Effect: Mirror Trap Shatter

So this has a similar way of building to doors, only a certain type of corner?

Also, if this is in view of a creature, the view of that creature will get an increase around the corner and if it has some sort of ranged attack it will shoot at the trap but melee will run around the corner and attack?

The viewing system be like this?

Yes, the mirror trap only works with ranged attacks. Viewing system would be like that.

I presume it would work the same way the distances work. It increases the creatures view the more the closer it is. Wait, no, that can't work sorry. Then it wouldn't increase range

OK, if they can see the trap then they can see everything the trap sees. And it sees everything in four directions until it hits a wall. There would be a cut-off point of ___ tiles or something. In first person you would target reflections.

I'm not sure if the trap would have to be in corners, but that is a good idea. I was imagining the trap to be square with mirrors mounted on each side, but rotated 45 degrees to the tile it is placed on so that it could be placed also at four way intersections or anywhere really, even if not effective, as with most traps.

This was my concept. But truth be told it may a little confusing in the heat of battle.

EDIT - It would go the reverse way as well of course. That only shows projectiles from 2 directions.

Should mirror traps be accumulative? In other words, if one mirror trap is within view of another mirror trap and within reflective range of the person firing at it should it be possible to bounce the projectile off one mirror trap and then off the other?

I think linking them up would be overkill unless the projectiles lost damage and or speed on every bounce.

Hmm, if this boosts the sight of the creature than perhaps we would have to give it a special sight like you said. A "Mirror" sight.

This Mirror sight would ignore fear and threat, therefore creatures won't run away.

And I think a Mirror Trap can bounce off with only a 25% loss in power at being a "mirrored" attack. This is because multible ranged creatures can be used at once and the overall may be too much if we don't use some kind of limit.

And no, if the attack gos through another mirror trap I think there should be no further deduction of the power of the spell, but one limit is that every time it goes through a mirror trap the spell loses 10% of its total health. This way, way, you can't do something like this...

    M--M
    ......|
    M--M
    |

And so on, that would make it a little cheap. :P

Also, lets be sure not to give it a real high health for the same reason, consider maybe 5 creatures attacking it at once.

You don't! That would be 7 years bad luck!
