Default Problem with music playback on Wine (Linux)

    Hello everyone,

I am having issues with music playback with this amazing game, which I hope you guys can help me solve.
I installed Dungeon Keeper Gold on my Linux machine via Play On Linux and followed all the instruction to integrate keeperfx (keeperfx_ccp_0_4_6_complete), including pasting the OGG music tracks in the GOG folder to the keeperfx music subfolder. I ran keeperfx with the -nocd flag but I still couldn't get the music to play, although I can hear all the other sounds normally.

I checked the keeperfx.log and it seems I am having problems with the music player, according to the log files:

Sync: InitializeMusicPlayer: Can't open music device: No available audio device
Sync: InitializeMusicPlayer: Music player using folder initialized

Has anyone faced a similar problem or has experience with running the game with Wine on Linux?

    [EDIT]
Here's the output from the debug option on PlayOnLinux:

    0032:fixme:exec:SHELL_execute flags ignored: 0x00000100
    0034:fixme:win:EnumDisplayDevicesW ((null),0,0x89f624,0x00000000), stub!
    0034:fixme:win:EnumDisplayDevicesW ((null),0,0x89f6a4,0x00000000), stub!
    0034:fixme:ddraw:ddraw_surface7_Flip Ignoring flags 0x1.
0034:err:winediag:MIDIMAP_drvOpen No software synthesizer midi port found, Midi sound output probably won't work.

I've got no experience on wine, but you could look if there are settings there on how your sound-hardware is to be emulated.

Failing that, you could just play the ogg files with a regular music player while you are playing keeperfx.

    That's actually a clever solution.
But meanwhile I'll try to dig in a little more to understand what's going on. I believe it is fixable I just am not much experienced with Wine.
Hopefully someone with knowledge on this provides a feedback to fix it so it's available to anyone who stumbles on this forum with the same problem. I'll update this if find a solution.

Meanwhile I'll just post some more debug lines I got from Wine while running the game.

    Thanks for your answer
