Default KeeperFX is jittery and unplayable

Hi, I downloaded GOG's iteration of this game then downloaded both the official and unofficial versions of keeperFX, both versions had the same issue.
I installed Dungeon Keeper gold, renamed game.gog to dungeonkeeper.iso and mounted that same file.
I opened launcher.exe clicked installation then guided the installation path to the gog directory and subsequently the dungeon keeper folder.
When I clicked start game after a successful install a small window would pop up then immediately close.
If I run gog's version of dungeon keeper I face no issues with gameplay. If I run keeperfx.exe I get a jittery and unplayable version of the game.
Where did I go wrong and how can I solve this issue? Thanks.

Hard to tell, KeeperFX should just work out of the box and when it doesn't you should just get an error message to tell you what's wrong.

Could be a DirectX issue, your symptoms seem similar to this guy, so try his solution.
If that doesn't help, please tell me in what screen resolution you are playing and share your log-file.

I tried the fix in the post you referenced but it had no impact.
The game runs fine in windowed mode, but at any resolution for full screen mode I get the same issue as the person in the post you referenced.
How do I access the log file?

In your KeeperFX folder, it's the file called keeperfx.log. Just attach the file here, or open it up with a text editor and share the content.

As for your problem, it sounds to me like it's your graphics settings somehow. That you've enabled something fancy that KeeperFX can't handle. Something that only works on fullscreen applications, perhaps you've enabled vsync or something. My suggestion is to go to your Nvidia or AMD control panel and check those settings and make exclusions for KeeperFX where applicable.

What you could also try is to see if installing DirectX 9 helps.

Cool, I'll post the log when I'm home.

I'll check my video card settings. If I install directx 9 will there be any issues with my direct x 12 install?

    I don't think so no.

I couldn't install DirectX9, it said: DirectX has determined that a newer or equivalent version of DirectX has been installed already. No installation is necessary.

I checked my video card settings, I haven't changed any of them. I looked at specifically Dungeon keeper gold's settings and everything is set to game specific settings...

Well sorry, than I don't know. Log file doesn't say anything. If windowed mode does work without problems, you can play in windowed mode I guess.

But if it only gives problems in full screen mode, it really indicates some issue with video settings/drivers. That it goes well in DK says nothing about FX, which works completely differently there. So try to make a special profile with all settings disabled for it, update you video drivers, google 'flickering in full screen', stuff like that.

It could be a graphics driver issue. I have a couple of programs which go haywire in fullscreen on one version of my graphics card driver, but work fine on an earlier version.
