How to use unique heroes textures
Did you know that good heroes also have their own elite units?
In general, the appearance of mercenaries is the elite of heroes, they have other textures.
The archer gets an eye-patch, the lord of the valley becomes king in gold armor.
How to change textures?
Check the unique box and indicate the hero of the original skin.

I'm struggling to get this to work, I do the modifications as shown in your picture, but when I load the map it crashes during the loading screen.
Any suggestions?

use version 1.7. i checked it again at new map - all work.
try running through a shortcut or console or give me map i look at it.

I used 1.7 and tried a shortcut, still no luck. Are you in the keeperklan discord?

it works only for players (good player do not have elite units). If you want use another textures for good player use checkbox "I am a mercenary" in creature properties

A Hero Keeper Campaign with unique heroes would be amazing.
