    Default Edited Levels Don't Appear

I edited a level with a very simple modification (added a creature at one point), but when I play that level it doesn't show the added creature, only the level as it is on the original CD.

I have tried making sure all of the edited files are copied into the Levels, Data and LData folders, and have restarted the basic campaign a couple of times, but for some unknown reason it still reverts back to the original ... ? I have also gone back into the editor (Unearth) and confirmed that the level in the KeeperFX folders IS the edited one.

Can someone please explain this and how I can get my edited level to show up?

You probably messed up your KeeperFX installation and made a GOG/FX hybrid folder. Make sure you install KeeperFX in it's own folder, don't drop the files into the GOG folder or where-ever. Then the levels for the original campaign are in KeeperFX/campgns/keeporig folder, if you edit the correct levels there the modifications will stick.

I didn't get my files from GOG - I have the original game CD, and I followed the instructions I found here.

However, I never heard about the campgns/keeporig folder - once I copied the edited maps in, the game recognized the changes ... except for creatures - I had added one creature at one specific point, but it clearly was not there when I ran the game, and I had made a slight modification to the imps which also didn't show.

Yes, this is a different question, but one that's REALLY puzzling me ... is this something that KeeperFX changed in the 1.0.0 release?

I'm also having serious problems getting the official editor to run, so am trying to use Unearth and Adikted, but the former doesn't allow for characters and the latter is also giving me fits trying to get it to work. (My system is Windows 11 Pro.)

So where did you originally place the edited maps? And why there?

Changes to creatures also work, what did you change to the imp, in which file where exactly?

Is what something KeeperFX changed? I do not understand the question.

What do you mean unearth does not allow for characters? You mean you don't know how to place creatures? At the top of the screen is a button to change between 'slabs' and 'things'. Unearth can do EVERYTHING the official editor does and much more.

In the Levels, LData and Data folders - when I used the original Editor, back in the day (but that was a LOOOONG time ago now), that's where the instructions said to put them.

To see if it would work, I replaced the Imps with Level 10 Imps and, at one point, dug an empty, unclaimed area designed to be used as a workshop and (because I wanted to see if it could be done and what kind of impact it would have) placed an unassigned (to a specific player) Level 1 Avatar in that area. The first time I ran it, the results were ... interesting.

I was referring to not allowing creatures to be modified, but I was obviously wrong.

OK, THAT'S the part I somehow missed. I just ran Unearth again, and sure enough was able to toggle between 'slabs' and 'things'. Not really sure HOW I missed it, but I obviously did ... !

Thank you so very much for your assistance - it is greatly appreciated!
