I have the normal version made work by the force directdraw function.
But the 3d version doesn't seem to work by any compatibility fix...
It just starts and then 20 secs later dissappears...
Has anyone come across a fix for this?

Ok thanx.. too bad.
alt r just switches between 300x 200 something or 640x480 which is default.
About Direct3D version, be sure to use the executable files straight from the CD and not from the installer.

alot of trouble can be solved by installing directX9.0c, it adds alot of old support libraries which are not contained in DirectX10.
I used both suggestions. No difference.
It's less pixelised, has brightful colors and works in 640x480. However, creature eye lenses are deactivated and small characters are a bit hard to read and small creature icons in Combat panel are blinking a bit incorrectly.

Its makes everything blurred (instead of pixelated), the only pro about it is that 1st person and spell effects look much better. But the rest isn't much better.
I prefere the standard version. Even on a big ass screen
I think lights get a little bland with 3d version.
Graphicaly it's much better, since I always play with full zoom out I don't notice any blur.
But I just tried d3d version now and it doesn't run well in my PC. I'm using XP and an ATI card, the game runs with many slowdowns and at some point it closes and gives me a message saying it needs dx5 and my card is not supported.
