    Default Roc

    Name: Roc
    Nickname: Death from Above

    Stats:

    Health: High
    Attack: Medium-high
    Defense: Average
    Armor: Low-average
    Accuracy: Above average
    Speed: Fast
    Dexterity: Average
Intelligence: They are intelligent beasts, but cannot read books
    Wage: Above average

    Skills:

    Level 1: Attack
    Level 3: Protect self
    Level 7: Lightning
    Level 8: Flight

    Skill information:

Level 1 attack: Same as in all DK games
Level 3 protect self: Same as in DK1, increases the armor of the caster significantly
Level 7 lightning: Same as in all DK games, shoots out a bolt of lightning, except that it recharges faster with the introduction of the level 8 skill.
Level 8 flight: Not same as in DK1! The Roc will fly into high into the air, sightly above the creatures who can naturally fly (even the Roc itself) and the Flight ability (DK1's version) and from there fly around and bombard the enemy with it’s arsanal. The Roc is still vulnerable however, to ranged attacks. The Roc will not engage other Rocs or enemies who fly at the same height level. This ability lasts 30-45 seconds. This ability can only be used in the Overworld.

    Information:
Giant sized birds, the Roc is a legendary Overworld bird that are reputated to carry off and eat Bile Demons. Their ability to fly to amazing heights and bombard enemies is that makes them so feared, and makes up for their limited numbers.

    Purpose:

Rocs are good close melee units who are fast. But they are truely devastating when they use their Flight ability. Fortunately for those who fear them, they are rare to find.

    Behavior in dungeon

Like all birds of prey, they are hunters and therefore will seek enemies to attack and kill when idle. They can train and manafacture (the latter bit reluctant). When angered, it has a nasty habitat of attacking and attempting to kill everything that isn’t a Roc.

The Roc, like Dragons and Bile Demons, is a large creature and requires extra living space.

    Jobs:
    Explore
    Attack enemies
    Train
    Manafacture

    Behavior in Overworld:
Rocs appear almost exclusively in the Overworld. They can be found everywhere but most commonly in mountains.

    Obtainable by:
    Neutral/Heroes side, Rocs are convertable.

    Style:
Blocker normal, Blitzer/flanker when in Flight mode.

    Hang Out Group:

It can get along with every creature the Roc doesn’t see as walking food.

    Hates:

The Roc has a foul tendency to see allies as food

    Demon Spawns (appetizer)
    Dragons (main course)
    Hellhound (desert?)

    Loves:

    Fellow Rocs
    Killing

Lair: Don’t know, a small cliff?

Appearance: A large eagle, see pictures.

    How introduced:

Should have a tendency to appear in flocks that exclusively consists out of Rocs, later in the game they can be seen teaming up with Heroes.

    Attracted:

Can’t, unless tweaked in the editor

    Pictures!
Yep, similair to the LotR, and HMM3.

HOMM3 still has a very positive effect for the fantasy genre, so why not?

The idea is much simular to the one i previous suggested, so I thought I'd post the drawings I did so far for the "storm griffin". Maybe we can do a creature which is a mix of the both, because obviously two flying feathery creatures which shoots lightning is too much.

@Monsterbaby, how can we do that? Both are mythical creatures but the Storm Griffin has a combination of lion and eagle-like features.

@Mothrayas, what do you mean exactly? How the Roc (and Storm Griffin) will behave in those conditions?

    Yes, that.

Or how it could even be possible to fly through a corridor that's less than half the width of the Roc's wingspan.

Well it has four if we choose it to have the design of the storm griffin and not the roc.

I don't know what people would like the most, either way we can't have both, I think.

I've been working a bit more on the colors.
